## Description

We are looking for a highly skilled **Senior Software Engineer** with strong expertise in **Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and GenAI/LLM integrations** to work on enterprise-scale Technology Platforms & Integration initiatives.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience developing scalable and highly available backend services, working with distributed systems, integrating AI capabilities through APIs/SDKs, and building secure, performant, and maintainable applications.

The role requires a strong understanding of modern JavaScript/ECMAScript, asynchronous and non-blocking programming, API architecture, cloud-native technologies, CI/CD, containerization, security, and enterprise application infrastructure.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Design, develop, and maintain **scalable, highly available RESTful APIs using Node.js**.
-   Develop robust backend services using **JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern ECMAScript standards**.
-   Implement asynchronous and non-blocking programming patterns using **Promises, async/await, and event-driven architectures**.
-   Design and integrate **LLM/GenAI-based solutions** using APIs and SDKs.
-   Engineer, fine-tune, and optimize **prompts for large language model (LLM) applications**.
-   Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications using appropriate APIs and SDKs.
-   Work with **Azure AI services**, including:

-   Azure Speech
-   Azure Language
-   Azure OpenAI
-   PII Detection

-   Design and implement real-time communication capabilities using **WebSockets**.
-   Develop and maintain database integrations using appropriate **ORMs and ODMs**, including technologies such as Sequelize, TypeORM, and Mongoose.
-   Build and maintain secure APIs and services within a regulated enterprise environment.
-   Apply API and data security best practices, including understanding of **firewall and network security concepts**.
-   Develop efficient, non-blocking code and apply advanced techniques such as **multi-threading where required**.
-   Troubleshoot and resolve issues across **distributed services ecosystems**.
-   Participate in CI/CD implementation, deployment, troubleshooting, and release activities.
-   Work with **Docker and Kubernetes** for containerization and deployment.
-   Understand and work across different layers of enterprise applications, including:

-   Platform layer
-   Database layer
-   API layer
-   Caching layer
-   Proxy layer
-   Web services

-   Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
-   Document code inline using **JSDoc or other accepted documentation conventions**.
-   Develop automation test scripts where required.
-   Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and technology teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

### Required Technical Skills

### Node.js & Backend Engineering

-   Strong expertise in **Node.js**.
-   Proven experience developing **scalable and highly available RESTful APIs**.
-   Strong understanding of asynchronous programming.
-   Hands-on experience with:

-   Promises
-   async/await
-   Event-driven architecture
-   Non-blocking programming

-   Understanding and practical application of advanced programming techniques, including **multi-threading where required**.

### JavaScript & TypeScript

-   Strong proficiency in **JavaScript**.
-   Strong understanding of the **JavaScript object model**.
-   Knowledge of **DOM manipulation**.
-   Strong understanding of the latest **ECMAScript standards**.
-   Strong proficiency in **TypeScript**.
-   Experience documenting code using **JSDoc or equivalent conventions**.

### API & Integration

-   Strong understanding of **RESTful API design and development**.
-   Experience securing APIs and enterprise data.
-   Experience integrating services through **APIs and SDKs**.
-   Understanding of API architecture within distributed enterprise environments.
-   Hands-on experience with **WebSockets** for real-time communication.

### GenAI / LLM

-   Practical experience with **Generative AI / LLM-based solutions**.
-   Knowledge of designing, engineering, and fine-tuning **prompts for LLM applications**.
-   Experience integrating LLM capabilities through **APIs or SDKs**.

### Azure AI

Working knowledge of **Azure AI services**, including:

-   Azure Speech
-   Azure Language
-   Azure OpenAI
-   PII Detection

### Database & Data Access

-   Experience with **ORMs and ODMs** for database interaction.
-   Familiarity with:

-   Sequelize
-   TypeORM
-   Mongoose

### DevOps & Cloud-Native Technologies

-   Strong understanding of **CI/CD principles**.
-   Experience working with CI/CD tools and remote deployment processes.
-   Hands-on experience with **Docker**.
-   Hands-on experience with **Kubernetes**.
-   Experience troubleshooting distributed services and deployment environments.

### Security & Enterprise Architecture

-   Familiarity with **firewall and network security concepts**.
-   Understanding of best practices for securing APIs and data in regulated environments.
-   Strong understanding of the responsibilities and interactions between:

-   Platforms
-   Databases
-   APIs
-   Caching layers
-   Proxies
-   Web services

### Testing

-   Ability to create **automation test scripts** is preferred.
-   Strong understanding of software quality and engineering best practices.
