**Quality Assurance (QA) Operator – Chilled**

**Nightshift- Sunday-Thursday 10PM-6.30AM**

**Location:** Airdrie  
**Department:** Chilled Operations  
**Reporting To:** QA Team Leader

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a **Quality Assurance (QA) Operator** to join our Chilled division. Reporting to the QA Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring that all products are manufactured to the correct quality, safety, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

-   Carry out quality checks throughout the production process to ensure products meet agreed specifications.
-   Monitor and verify product quality, weight, labelling, packaging, and presentation standards.
-   Conduct routine inspections and record findings accurately using company systems and documentation.
-   Support production teams in achieving right first time manufacturing standards.
-   Ensure compliance with Albert Bartlett food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
-   Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and quality control checks in line with HACCP requirements.
-   Report any quality, food safety, legality, or compliance concerns immediately to the relevant manager.
-   Assist with product holds, investigations, non-conformances, and corrective actions when required.
-   Support internal audits, customer visits, and third-party inspections.
-   Maintain accurate records to demonstrate due diligence and traceability.
-   Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Hygiene, and Technical teams to drive continuous improvement.
-   Promote and maintain high standards of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and housekeeping across the site.

## Requirements

-   Previous experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
-   Good understanding of food safety and quality standards.
-   Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects or non-conformances.
-   Good communication skills and confidence working with production teams.
-   Ability to complete paperwork accurately and maintain records.
-   Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
-   Previous QA, QC, or Technical experience within chilled food manufacturing.
-   Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems.
-   Experience of customer standards and audit requirements (BRCGS, retailer standards).
-   Basic IT skills and experience using quality management systems.
