## Description

We are looking for a **COBOL Software Engineer** for a long-term program at our client in retail.

Part of the project is to study and map the AS IS situation so they are future-ready by understanding all the applications and systems so they're able to easily build towards the TO BE in the future. The other part is technical support and development. 

**Role context**:

• Work on the internal B2B package (invoicing, article data, pricing, customer management…)

• AS‑IS analysis, documentation, diving into the sources, technical adjustments

• Application integrations

• Daily checks, incident resolution, ticket handling

• After one year: limited on‑call duty during office hours

## Requirements

• Minimum **5 years COBOL experience** (AcuCOBOL 85 is a plus)

• Experience with **Oracle 19** is a strong advantage

• Knowledge of **Linux/RedHat**, VMware, SOAP/XML, Java SDK, Apache Ant, WebSphere

• **Dutch is mandatory** (all source comments and documentation are in Dutch) 

• Strong analytical mindset, eager to learn, good communication skills 

• Willingness to take on **run/support** tasks after onboarding (2nd line, very light on‑call: 1–2 calls/month)
