Based in Palmer, McFarlane Alaska specializes in parts and performance modifications supporting bush flying (STOL), designing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality aircraft parts for the aviation market. With over 50 years of combined experience, the team is committed to delivering superior parts with exceptional, old-fashioned customer service.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

The Shop Hand supports daily operations by assisting with material handling, basic production tasks, shop organization, and facility housekeeping. Additional responsibilities include part marking, tagging, removing ink from parts prior to powder coating, and supporting light assembly work as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

-   Cut parts from material sheets and deburr components using a bench grinder (primary responsibility).
-   Perform part marking, tagging, double-tagging, and remove ink from parts prior to powder coating.
-   Assist with light assembly and basic production support as needed.
-   Maintain organized work areas and support general shop tasks (material prep, staging parts, stocking workstations).
-   Move materials and support shipping/receiving activities as directed.
-   Safely operate basic shop equipment (hand tools, pallet jacks, carts, etc.).
-   Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
-   Assist with general production tasks as needed

**QUALIFICATIONS**

-   Experience or interest in hands-on mechanical or assembly work; experience in manufacturing or warehouse a plus.
-   Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
-   Commitment to safety and teamwork.
-   High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required

-   Ability to climb ladders, reach overhead, climb stairs multiple times a day and lift up to 50 lbs.
-   Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work on feet for extended periods.
-   Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
