### Senior Backend Engineer (TypeScript/Convex)

AI + Infrastructure + iOS/Core ML

Full-Time — Addis Ababa

Pay: $9/hour (with room to grow fast)

### About the Role

We’re a fast-moving team building production AI-enabled apps, and we’re looking for a backend-heavy engineer to help us scale.

You’ll own our backend systems in TypeScript + Convex, build services in Go/Python, and collaborate closely with frontend and iOS engineers shipping real products to users.

### What You’ll Do

-   Build and maintain backend services using TypeScript + Convex
-   Design clean APIs and data models that power the product
-   Deploy and run services on Linux, with strong uptime and reliability
-   Work with reverse proxies, networking, and high-availability setups
-   Support large iOS apps and integrate Core ML features in Swift
-   Use AI tools (LLMs) to move faster while keeping quality high

### What We’re Looking For

-   Strong backend experience with TypeScript
-   Convex experience (or ability to ramp quickly)
-   Comfortable with Go + Python
-   Production infrastructure basics: Linux, proxies, networking
-   Able to support iOS build workflows + Core ML integration
-   Startup mindset: ownership, speed, and teamwork

### Nice to Have

-   Real-time/reactive systems experience
-   Docker, CI/CD, scaling + security best practices
