**Position Overview:**

We are seeking a dedicated **Per-Diem Registered Nurse** for an opening at a hospital in Metairie, LA. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic setting, managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team.

**Key Responsibilities:**

-   Conducting final health checks (vital signs, allergies, fasting status), verifying consent forms, and preparing the patient psychologically and physically for surgery.
-   Closely monitoring vital signs, airway patency, and consciousness levels as patients emerge from anesthesia, while managing pain and post-operative nausea.
-   Assisting patients to sit, stand, and walk to ensure they are safe and steady, meeting mobility criteria required for discharge.
-   Providing comprehensive verbal and written aftercare instructions regarding wound management, medications, and "red flag" symptoms to ensure a safe recovery at home.
-   Inserting and removing IV cannulas, and administering prescribed medications (including IV fluids, antibiotics, and analgesia).

## Requirements

**Qualifications:**

-   **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
-   **Licensure:** Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of LA and current BLS Certification.
-   **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of RN work experience.
-   **Soft Skills:** Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
