## Description

The Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions while mentoring team members, driving technical excellence, ensuring timely project delivery, and acting as a bridge between engineering, clients, and leadership. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, people management, and delivery ownership.

**1\. Technical Leadership & Mentorship**

-   Act as a technical and career mentor for team members, supporting their growth and long-term development.
-   Share broad knowledge of technologies, frameworks, and system architectures, guiding the team in making sound technical decisions.
-   Work closely with engineers in a collaborative, peer-programming and problem-solving environment.
-   Assist team members in resolving complex technical challenges by offering alternative perspectives and solutions.
-   Lead architectural discussions and contribute to high-level design decisions.
-   Participate actively in code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
-   Continuously upskill by taking relevant courses and encouraging learning within the team.
-   Fulfill all responsibilities expected of a Senior Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer, in addition to leadership duties.  
    

**2\. Project Ownership & Delivery**

-   Own projects end-to-end, from requirement understanding to delivery and post-release support.
-   Ensure timely, high-quality delivery by setting clear, realistic goals and aligning team efforts accordingly.
-   Identify risks early and proactively manage dependencies, scope, and timelines.
-   Maintain a strong focus on engineering quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.  
    

**3\. Client Collaboration & Product Thinking**

-   Take the lead in client communication for assigned projects.
-   Collaborate with clients to gather, clarify, and refine requirements.
-   Understand the client’s vision and translate it into actionable technical and product outcomes.
-   Add value beyond implementation by researching ideas, competitors, and industry best practices, contributing with a product-oriented mindset.
-   Act as a trusted technical partner to clients, helping shape solutions rather than just executing requirements.  
    

**4\. Collaboration & Cross-Team Alignment**

-   Collaborate closely with other Team Leads, Senior Engineers, and stakeholders to ensure consistency and high standards across teams.
-   Share learnings, challenges, and solutions across teams to continuously improve engineering practices.
-   Support a culture of collaboration, ownership, and accountability.  
    

**5\. Performance Management & Team Development**

-   Lead the performance review cycle for the team.
-   Track, evaluate, and own team and individual KPIs, acting as a conduit between leadership goals and team execution.
-   Provide regular feedback and coaching to help team members improve performance and skills.
-   Identify skill gaps and create structured development plans to enhance team capabilities.
-   Encourage ownership, initiative, and professional growth within the team.  
    

**6\. Hiring & Talent Building**

-   Assist in hiring and recruitment by conducting technical assessments and interviews.
-   Focus on hiring high-performing engineers (“A-players”) and continuously raising the bar for engineering talent.
-   Contribute to building and sustaining high-performing, motivated teams.  
    

**7\. Process, Standards & Policy Enforcement**

-   Promote and enforce company-wide coding standards, guidelines, and best practices.
-   Ensure adherence to engineering processes, discipline, and workflow standards.
-   Help implement and execute company policies to ensure smooth team operations.
-   Support conflict resolution within the team, fostering a healthy and respectful work environment.

**8\. Strategic Contribution**

-   Support upper management in driving the company’s technological vision and mission through idea exchange and technical insights.
-   Align team execution with broader business goals and KPIs.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
-   5+ years of professional experience in software development, including Senior Software Engineer or Principal-level roles.
-   Strong experience with the MERN stack, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL with TypeORM and Drizzle ORM, Express.js, React, and Node.js, with a solid understanding of building scalable full-stack applications.
-   Proven experience managing a team and delivering projects end-to-end
-   Hands-on involvement in client communication and team coordination.
-   Strong technical foundation, problem-solving skills, and ability to mentor and guide team members.  
    Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, automation, and infrastructure as code.
-   Experience with NestJS Monorepo and Turborepo for building and managing scalable applications and shared codebases.
-   Experience working with AWS security and compliance controls such as IAM, encryption, secrets management, network security, and secure infrastructure practices.
-   Understanding of data privacy, PHI/PII protection, and PCI-sensitive data handling throughout the application lifecycle and Strong experience implementing HIPAA, PCI DSS, and other security/compliance requirements in web applications.
