## Description

**Medical Director / Inpatient Psychiatrist Opportunity**

**Location:** Colorado Springs, CO

We are seeking an experienced **Psychiatrist** to serve as **Medical Director** for a new inpatient behavioral health hospital in **Colorado Springs, Colorado**.

This is an opportunity to play an integral role in the development and growth of a new psychiatric program. The hospital will initially operate in **deemed status with a limited patient census** during its early operational phase, with plans to expand to a **70+ bed inpatient behavioral health facility**.

The Medical Director will combine direct inpatient psychiatric care with clinical leadership and oversight as the program grows.

Responsibilities

-   Provide inpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
-   Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing patient assessments
-   Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
-   Manage psychiatric medications and monitor patient response to treatment
-   Serve as **Medical Director** and provide clinical leadership for the psychiatric program
-   Provide clinical oversight and guidance to physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the treatment team
-   Collaborate with nurses, therapists, social workers, and other behavioral health professionals
-   Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning
-   Assist with development and implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and standards
-   Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and performance initiatives
-   Collaborate with facility leadership as the hospital expands its services and patient census
-   Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

## Requirements

-   MD or DO
-   Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
-   Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
-   Eligible for a **Colorado medical license**
-   Inpatient Psychiatry experience preferred
-   Medical Director or physician leadership experience preferred
-   Experience with behavioral health program development or hospital growth preferred
-   Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills
