**Job Description** 

Location: **Vineland, NJ** 

Department: **Facilities / Data Center Operations** 

Reports To: **Facilities Manager**  

Employment Type: **Full-Time** (**Shift work / On-call rotation** may be required, including **nights, weekends, and holidays**) 

**About the Role** 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our Data Center Operations team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical facility infrastructure that supports mission-critical data center operations, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, up-time-critical environment. 

**Key Responsibilities** 

-   Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical infrastructure systems, including: 

-   Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, ATS/switchgear, and PDUs 

-   Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) / Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) units, chillers, and cooling towers 

-   Fire suppression and life safety systems 

-   Building Management System (BMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools 

-   Conduct routine facility inspections, walkthroughs, and equipment readings to identify potential issues before they escalate 

-   Support installation, upgrades, and decommissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment 

-   Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work order records, and compliance documentation 

-   Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, calibrations, and inspections 

-   Follow strict safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash safety, and change management procedures 

-   Assist with capacity planning and infrastructure improvement projects 

-   Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable regulatory and industry standards

## Requirements

**Required Qualifications** 

-   High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training or associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or related field preferred 

-   2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, critical environments, or data center operations (or equivalent military/technical experience) 

-   Working knowledge of electrical systems (up to medium voltage), mechanical systems, and HVAC principles 

-   Familiarity with UPS, generators, switchgear, and precision cooling systems 

-   Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals 

-   Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 

-   Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a 24/7 operational environment 

-   Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and be part of an on-call rotation 

**Preferred Qualifications** 

-   Journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification 

-   EPA universal certification (HVAC) 

-   Experience with DCIM/BMS platforms 

-   CFC/HVAC certification 

-   Experience in collocation, hyperscale, or enterprise data center environment 

-   OSHA 10/30 certification 

**Physical Requirements** 

-   Ability to lift up to 50 lbs 

-   Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces for extended periods 

-   Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels 

-   Comfortable working at heights and around high-voltage equipment with proper safety training
