## Description

### About Us

Kenny Habetz Injury Law is a Louisiana personal injury firm that fights for injured people so they can focus on healing. Founded by attorney Kenny Habetz, the firm represents clients in car, truck and motorcycle accidents, workplace and construction injuries, maritime injuries, wrongful death, slip and falls, dog bites and more, from offices in Lafayette, Crowley and Metairie. We are a growing, Inc. 5000-recognized team that is known for responsiveness, honesty and treating clients like family. Our clients tell us the difference is that we handle everything for them, and the people behind the scenes make that possible.

### POSITION SUMMARY

The Claims Verification Leader owns the accuracy and completeness of every claim that moves through our pipeline, and leads the team that makes sure of it. You will supervise a team of verification specialists, set the standards they work to, and personally handle the most complex files. Your team confirms who was at fault, what coverage is available, what injuries and treatment are documented, and what losses can be proven, so our attorneys can value cases and negotiate with confidence.

This role protects our clients from insurance company tactics and protects the firm from taking on weak or misrepresented claims. If you are organized by instinct, steady under pressure, good at developing people, and the kind of person who cannot stand an open loop, you will do well here.

### KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

### Team Leadership

- Supervise, schedule and coach a team of claims verification specialists and support staff
- Set daily and weekly priorities and assign files by complexity and deadline across offices
- Hire, onboard and train new team members
- Run regular one-on-ones, performance reviews and skills coaching
- Hold the team to clear accuracy and turnaround standards and address performance issues promptly and fairly

### Liability and Coverage Verification

- Confirm liability facts using police and incident reports, photos, witness statements and video
- Open claims, confirm coverage, and verify policy limits for all relevant parties, including liability, uninsured and underinsured motorist, commercial and employer policies
- Track claim numbers, adjuster assignments and policy limits
- Identify comparative fault issues and potential fraud, and escalate them to the attorneys with a clear summary

### Medical and Damages Verification

- Confirm treatment, providers, diagnoses and billing, and flag gaps in care or pre-existing conditions that could hurt the case
- Review records for accuracy, completeness and anything that needs attorney attention
- Verify lost wages and other economic damages through employer records and pay history
- Identify liens and outstanding balances early so settlement is not delayed later

### Process and Quality Control

- Build, document and improve verification checklists, workflows and quality reviews
- Audit completed files for accuracy and completeness before they reach attorneys or are submitted to insurers
- Make sure verified files are demand ready and support the attorney and Pre-Litigation Manager during negotiation
- Keep deadlines, tasks and file status current in the case management system
- Track team metrics and report them to firm leadership

### Communication and Coordination

- Partner with intake, case managers, paralegals and attorneys so verified information reaches the right people quickly
- Communicate with adjusters, providers, employers and records custodians until requests are fulfilled
- Support clients with accurate, timely and compassionate updates in plain language
- Document every contact in the case management system

### CORE COMPETENCIES

- Leadership. You coach, delegate and hold people accountable while keeping morale high
- Case ownership. You do not wait to be asked what is happening on a file
- Client first mindset. Every verified fact exists to protect the person we represent
- Accuracy. A missed policy limit, bill or record costs a client real money at settlement
- Time management. You can oversee a large volume of active files and still know which few need attention today
- Follow through. You close loops rather than leaving them open for someone else
- Composure. Difficult calls and adversarial adjusters do not rattle you
- Collaboration. You work in step with attorneys and paralegals instead of around them
