## Description

The Market Team Lead supports the daily operation of the Market by leading the team on the floor, ensuring exceptional member service, maintaining merchandising and food safety standards, and coaching team members to deliver a consistent East Bank Club experience.

This position serves as the leader on duty in the absence of a manager by providing direction, answering questions, resolving routine operational issues, and ensuring daily standards are consistently executed. The Market Team Lead works alongside the team while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment and helping develop future Market Clerks through ongoing coaching, training, and support.

Pay rate: $22.00 per hour.

**Leadership & Team Development:**

-   Lead daily operations of the Market in the absence of management while maintaining East Bank Club service standards.
-   Support the onboarding and training of new Market Clerks through demonstration, coaching, and performance feedback until proficiency is achieved.
-   Serve as a role model by consistently demonstrating professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
-   Delegate daily responsibilities and prioritize tasks based on business needs.
-   Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to reinforce standards and encourage continuous improvement.
-   Foster a supportive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
-   Act as the primary resource for team members by answering questions and assisting with operational challenges.
-   Exercise sound judgment in resolving routine operational or member service issues while recognizing situations that require management involvement.
-   Communicate important operational updates, staffing concerns, member feedback, and facility issues to Market Management.

**Member Experience:**

-   Deliver exceptional hospitality by greeting members and guests in a friendly, professional manner.
-   Anticipate member needs while providing knowledgeable recommendations and suggestive selling.
-   Resolve routine member concerns promptly while maintaining a positive experience.
-   Ensure every member interaction reflects the East Bank Club's hospitality standards.

**Operations:**

-   Execute all Market opening, shift change, and closing procedures.
-   Ensure daily operational standards are consistently maintained throughout the shift.
-   Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to meet changing business demands.
-   Assist with catering orders and support team members with order entry and execution.
-   Maintain working knowledge of the POS system, including approved Team Lead functions such as voids, credits, reports, and troubleshooting.
-   Initiate maintenance requests for equipment or facility concerns and communicate follow-up needs to management.
-   Maintain proactive communication with Market Management, Culinary, and fellow team members regarding operational needs.

**Quality Assurance:**

-   Conduct routine floor walks to ensure operational standards are consistently maintained.
-   Verify that products meet quality, freshness, and presentation expectations.
-   Monitor overall appearance of the Market to ensure it remains clean, organized, and member-ready at all times.

## Requirements

**Physical Requirements:**

-   Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
-   Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
-   Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb as necessary.
-   Ability to work in refrigerated environments for short periods.
-   Ability to operate retail and food service equipment safely.

**Qualifications:**

-   Minimum 21 years of age.
-   Minimum one year of retail, hospitality, food service, or customer service experience required.
-   Previous leadership, trainer, or shift lead experience preferred.
-   Strong customer service and hospitality skills.
-   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-   Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and motivate others.
-   Strong organizational and time-management skills.
-   Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
-   Ability to make sound decisions independently within established guidelines.
-   Working knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills.
-   Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
-   Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain, if required).
