## Description

The Building Automation Maintenance Engineer (Maintenance Engineer – Systems) will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuously improving the **Niagara 4-based Automation System (IKAS)** and **Integrated Fire Alarm Automation System (IFAS)**. The role involves system health monitoring, fault diagnosis, user and system administration, software backup management, network coordination, and support for automation system expansion and optimization.

**Key Responsibilities**

-   Monitor IKAS/IFAS functionality and prepare daily system health reports.
-   Investigate system alarms and faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.
-   Create and manage **Niagara 4 user accounts** according to approved access levels.
-   Monitor and log system-user activities and report security or access violations.
-   Manage software backups and perform system restoration when required.
-   Coordinate with IT teams to resolve network, server, and virtual machine issues.
-   Support maintenance teams in resolving communication issues between Niagara and connected equipment/devices.
-   Configure Niagara machine IP addresses, network settings, and server communication ports.
-   Provide after-hours technical support when required.
-   Perform system optimization, fine-tuning, and performance improvement activities.
-   Develop and configure **SQL database scripts** for reporting requirements.
-   Maintain automation-related IT equipment, including servers, workstations, and JACE controllers.
-   Investigate and resolve security alerts raised by Operations and IT departments.
-   Support system expansion projects and ensure vendor/contractor compliance with approved specifications.
-   Continuously develop and maintain Niagara platforms, including system configuration and graphics accuracy.
-   Conduct audits and inspections of automation systems.
-   Develop software solutions to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
-   Prepare monthly system status and performance reports.
-   Coordinate technical activities with software developers and automation system vendors.
-   Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement smart automation solutions.
-   Develop departmental performance, operational, and statistical dashboards.
-   Manage **Tridium SMA agreements** for Niagara stations, including software patches, bug fixes, and version upgrades.

**Required Competencies**

-   Knowledge of **Niagara 4**, including Java and HTML5 implementation.
-   Strong knowledge of **Building Automation Systems (BAS)**.
-   Knowledge of energy conservation and building energy optimization.
-   Strong problem-solving and **Root Cause Analysis (RCA)** skills.
-   Good knowledge of fire alarm, lighting control, and power monitoring systems.
-   Fluent in written and spoken English.

**Qualifications**

-   Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in **Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering**, or an equivalent approved discipline.
-   Good knowledge of Building Automation Systems and related security/automation systems.

**Experience**

-   Minimum **7 years of overall experience** in the relevant automation/building systems domain.
-   Minimum **3 years of hands-on experience with Niagara platform-based Building Automation Systems**.
-   Experience in Niagara 4 system administration, troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance.
-   Experience with BAS/IBMS, fire alarm, lighting control, power monitoring, and related automation systems is preferred.
