## Description

The Rehabilitation Physiotherapist will support the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services to SCCC Senior and Academy players, with a primary focus on the assessment, planning and delivery of evidence-based rehabilitation programmes following injury or surgery. The postholder will work closely with the wider Science & Medicine (S&M) team to optimise player recovery, minimise time-loss from injury and support safe, effective return to training and competition.

Working under the guidance of the Lead Physiotherapist and alongside the wider S&M and coaching teams, the Rehabilitation Physiotherapist will provide a player-centred approach to rehabilitation, integrating physiotherapy, physical preparation and performance principles to maximise player availability and long-term athletic development. This role will support scheduled rehabilitation sessions, training, matchday requirements and wider S&M service delivery across the Senior and Academy programmes.

Role objectives and responsibilities to include the following:

-   Deliver comprehensive assessment, clinical diagnosis and evidence-based rehabilitation of various injuries.
-   Design, implement and progress individualised rehabilitation programmes from the acute phase through to return-to-performance.
-   Lead the delivery of on-field rehabilitation and return-to-running programmes.
-   Work collaboratively with Strength & Conditioning staff to integrate rehabilitation with physical development and performance objectives.
-   Support safe return-to-train and return-to-play decision making in conjunction with the Science and Medicine team, coaching staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
-   Monitor rehabilitation progression using objective outcome measures, performance metrics and clinical reasoning.
-   Contribute to maximising player availability through proactive rehabilitation planning and effective injury management.
-   Provide treatment and manual therapy interventions where clinically indicated.
-   Support injury prevention initiatives, movement screening and player profiling programmes.
-   Provide physiotherapy cover for designated training sessions and fixtures as required.
-   Liaise with consultants, imaging providers and external healthcare professionals where appropriate to ensure continuity of care.
-   Maintain accurate, timely and confidential medical records in accordance with club, ECB and HCPC standards. Ensure all injury management documentation and database entries are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
-   Operate within established clinical governance, safeguarding and medical governance frameworks.
-   Contribute to departmental audits, service development initiatives and evidence-based practice.
-   Undertake continuing professional development and maintain current knowledge of rehabilitation, return-to-play and sports medicine best practice.

## Requirements

Essential:

-   BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
-   Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)
-   Current advanced trauma management and emergency care accreditation (or ability to complete this in the near future if successful)
-   Experience working with adolescent or pathway athletes
-   Full Driving License is a mandatory requirement
-   Understanding of growth and maturation considerations in sport
-   High standards of personal and professional integrity
-   Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

-   Experience working within sporting environment
-   Experience working within Academy or talent pathway environments
-   Awareness of female athlete health considerations
