**Autism Resource Centre (Singapore)** or ARC(S) is a non-profit charity organisation dedicated to serving individuals on the autism spectrum throughout their lives. Based in Singapore, ARC(S) offers a range of services and resources tailored to meet the growing concerns and needs of the autism community including our WeCAN Early Intervention Programme (EIP).

The team at **WeCAN EIP** provides quality early intervention for young children on the autism spectrum under 7 years and equips their caregivers with the skills that will help them reach their full potential.

**Role Summary**

The Teacher Aide (TA) supports the teaching team in delivering quality early intervention services to young children on the autism spectrum. The TA plays a key role in preparing the learning environment, supporting classroom routines, and working collaboratively with teachers to facilitate children’s participation and engagement.

As a **Teacher Aide (WeCAN EIP)**, your impact and contribution includes:

**Classroom & Environment Support**

-   Set up classrooms and learning materials prior to sessions.
-   Organise teaching resources and therapy materials.
-   Reset and pack up materials after sessions.
-   Maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness of the learning environment.

**In-Class Support**

-   Support children during lessons as directed by teachers.
-   Participate in classroom choreography (e.g., guiding transitions, prompting participation, supporting regulation needs).
-   Assist with implementation of planned activities and routines.
-   Support children’s engagement in tasks and daily routines.

**Team Collaboration** _(Critical Function)_

-   Work proactively and fluidly within a multidisciplinary team.
-   Follow teacher instructions closely while taking initiative where appropriate.
-   Communicate observations or needs to teachers promptly.
-   Contribute to a supportive and respectful team culture.

## Requirements

-   Min. GCE 'O’Level/NITEC
-   Comfortable working with young children on the autism spectrum in a respectful, patient, and responsive manner.
-   Able to adapt quickly to changes in classroom routines, plans, and children’s needs.
-   Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented in approach.
-   Willingness to learn and receive guidance from teachers and therapists.
-   Prior experience working with young children is preferred.
