**POSITION SUMMARY:**

Focus Interpreting is seeking a committed American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our team in Indio, CA. This role is vital in ensuring effective communication between the deaf and hearing communities across diverse settings.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

-   Provide high-quality ASL interpretation services in contexts such as educational institutions, healthcare environments, social services, and public events.
-   Effectively interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa, maintaining clarity and cultural relevance throughout the process.
-   Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements in all interpretation assignments.
-   Build rapport with clients to understand their specific communication preferences and needs.
-   Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance interpreting skills and familiarize yourself with industry trends.

**REQUIREMENTS:**

-   Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a strong command of English.
-   Preferred certification or degree from a recognized ASL interpreting program.
-   Understanding of Deaf culture and awareness of community dynamics.
-   Experience in diverse interpreting environments is an advantage.
-   Capacity to perform well under pressure while delivering effective interpretations.
