## Description

We are looking for a Social Studies Teacher for an international school based in Chongqing. This position is available from the upcoming 2026-27 academic year starting in August 2026.

Job details

-   Teach Social Studies-related subjects to high school students, including areas such as American Government, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, History, and Geography
-   Prepare lesson plans and deliver engaging lessons aligned with American curriculum standards
-   Use a range of teaching methods and resources to support different learning needs
-   Assess students’ progress, grade assignments, and provide clear feedback to students and parents
-   Support students who need additional help and provide extension activities for higher-achieving learners
-   Prepare students for tests, exams, presentations, projects, and other assessments
-   Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
-   Attend staff meetings, parent meetings, workshops, and other school activities as required
-   Supervise students during classes, school events, and field trips
-   Monitor students’ wellbeing and work with the school counselor or relevant staff when needed

## Requirements

-   Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant subject area
-   Valid teaching license or certification
-   Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably at middle or high school level
-   Experience with US Common Core or an American curriculum preferred
-   AP teaching experience or certification preferred
