## Description

·         Prepare layouts and conceptual design in support of lead design engineers.

·         Design Civil projects with limited supervision for electrical substations.

·         Ability to work proficiently both as part of a team and independently.

·         Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

·         Ability to review and evaluate the work of other group designers and drafters involved in the design of civil projects.

·         Ability to develop project or task scope definitions, provide schedule input, prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates.

·         Provide support for all construction activities related to the civil aspects of electrical substations.

·         Coordinate work with other internal design groups, external clients, vendors, and contractors.

·         Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments to meet defined schedules and deliverables.

## Requirements

·         High School graduate of equivalent required.

·         Technical training or certifications preferred.

·         Autodesk certification preferred.

Experience:

·         A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil site drafting and design required.

·         Solid experience in grading design, erosion control design, hydrology and storm water design is required.

·         Prior experience in construction estimating and construction administration is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·         Very experienced user of current version of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

·         Proficient in the design of grading, drainage, erosion control and stormwater management.

·         General knowledge of Federal, State, and local permitting within Alabama.

·         Ability to process and implement survey data to create 2D/3D surfaces and contours.
