**About the Role**

As the General Manager (GM) HSE, Rail and Touring Division you will be responsible for leading the HSE function for the newly formed Rail and Touring Division in Journey Beyond. This new Division brings together the various businesses in Journey Beyond that are focussed on providing guest experiences and accommodation across our diverse Rail and Touring locations (Australia and New Zealand), services and products.

This role will be a key member of a newly formed divisional Leadership Team and will deliver a range of HSE support from risk and incident management, strategy development and execution, systems, data and governance, contractor and third party HSE assurance, audit, safety culture and engagement, and leadership coaching.

This is a national role based in our Adelaide North Terrace office and Keswick terminal. Travel may be required as you will be required to work with teams and stakeholders in multiple locations. You must have the flexibility to travel as required.

 Key Responsibilities will include:

-   Develop HSE related programs to drive the proactive safety culture agenda and create value for the Rail and Touring Division.
-   Ensure that HSE related initiatives are implemented and executed with an employee experience perspective.
-   Lead the data, reporting and HSE assurance processes for the division, including the development of KPIs and key insights, ongoing regulatory and legislative monitoring, input into Executive / Board reporting where required and analysing data and trends to influence decision making.
-   Co-develop and lead the deployment of the new HSE governance model for the division, including the optimisation of management safety, advisory and divisional committee structures.
-   Provide functional leadership to the HSE Rail and Touring team fostering engaging relationships across all levels of the Journey Beyond group.
-   Partner with Business Leaders to provide advice and input into the full range of HSE functional areas.
-   Act as a trusted advisor to the senior Rail and Touring Leadership team.
-   Provide escalated advice for regulatory matters within the Business Unit.
-   Act as the primary contact on relevant HSE workstreams for Rail and Touring, both internally and externally for the Journey Beyond Group.
-   Provide a safe and secure environment for employees, in accordance with Journey Beyond HSE framework and policies.

**About You**

To be successful you will be an experienced HSE professional with previous experience in managing people within a service or operations environment where direct reports are geographically dispersed.

You will also have the following skills/knowledge/attributes:

-   Unwavering attention to detail
-   Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
-   Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles as well as knowledge of Rail Safety National Law (RSNL), and Australian Heavy Vehicle Regulatory landscape (NZ WHS Legislation experience is highly desirable)

-   Exceptional stakeholder engagement and leadership capability
-   A collaborative, solutions-focused approach with strong commercial acumen
-   10+ years’ experience in a Health, Safety & Environment role with similar size and scope
-   Relevant HSE qualifications (Diploma, Degree or comparative experience in Business Management)
