## Description

**Role:** HR and Learning & Development Lead
**Location**: Cardiff Office, Eastern Business Park, St Mellons
**Salary:** £35,000–£45,000 per annum, depending on experience
**Working pattern**: Onsite, minimum 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Are you a L&D or HR professional who enjoys helping people learn, grow, and perform at their best?

At Advanced Secure Technologies, we’re a fast-growing, innovative B Corp on a mission to protect organisations from document fraud through secure digital solutions.

If you’ve built a foundation in operational HR and want to play a leading role in strengthening how we attract, support, develop, and retain our people across a growing technology business, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

**What you’ll do:**

Your goal will be simple, but critically important: help us get the right talent into the business, get them up to speed quickly, and then continue their development so they are ready to meet our future needs.

You’ll work closely with the People Team, managers, and colleagues across the business to further develop the systems, learning, support, and assessment needed to make this work. There are already several exciting projects underway, including Career Pathways, Knowledge and Skills Assessments, internal learning content, and Skills Badging, giving you a strong foundation to build from.

Alongside this, you’ll support wider People and business improvement activity, including accreditation and compliance work across areas such as ISO standards, B Corp, and internal process improvement.

You’ll also contribute to the commercial side of the business by helping create onboarding and learning content for our customers and supporting the development of our Digital Badging product, using your HR and L&D insight to help shape how organisations can track skills, learning, progression, and professional development.

## Requirements

**What you bring:**

- A desire to innovate and improve how people learn, develop, and progress.
- Experience in operational HR and employee lifecycle processes.
- Experience supporting recruitment, training, development, or employee review processes.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams.
- Good attention to detail and confidence handling confidential information.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support managers and employees professionally.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and HR or reporting systems.
- CIPD qualified, working towards qualification, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience or continuing professional development.

**Bonus points for:**

- Knowledge of learning frameworks, competency models, or skills matrices.
- Confidence using learning platforms, eLearning tools, or HR systems.
- Exposure to ISO, accreditation, compliance, or audit activity.
- Ability to design training materials or development plans.
- Strong data skills, including analysing workforce, training, or HR information.
- Involvement in system, software, or product development discussions.
- An interest in organisational development, workplace learning, or people technology.

## Benefits

**What we offer:**

- Competitive salary £35,000–£45,000 (DOE) + monthly performance bonus.
- Clear progression opportunities within the People function and wider business.
- A role with real influence across People, L&D, employee development, and product direction.
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays.
- Training and development time.
- Free gym, free secure parking, free eyecare, and a fully stocked kitchen.
- Cycle-to-work scheme.

**Location and hours:**

- Onsite, Eastern Business Park, St Mellons, Cardiff, Wales.
- Minimum 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with up to one hour for lunch.

**Onsite working:**

We’re an office-based team because our culture thrives on collaboration, learning, and hands-on support. This role works closely with managers and employees across the business, so regular face-to-face interaction is important.

While we don’t offer fully remote or fixed hybrid working, we’re flexible when life happens — ad hoc home working is always an option.
