**POSITION SUMMARY:**

Focus Interpreting is seeking a dedicated Samoan Interpreter to join our team. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating accurate and effective communication between Samoan-speaking individuals and English-speaking clients in a variety of settings.

**Responsibilities:**

-   Provide professional interpretation services in medical, legal, educational, government, social service, and community settings.
-   Accurately interpret spoken communication between Samoan and English in consecutive or simultaneous modes, as required.
-   Ensure clear, complete, and impartial communication while maintaining the meaning, tone, and intent of the speaker.
-   Adhere to strict confidentiality standards and maintain the highest level of professionalism and ethical conduct during all assignments.
-   Stay current with language terminology, industry best practices, and cultural nuances to provide high-quality interpretation services.

**Requirements:**

-   Fluency in both Samoan and English, with excellent verbal communication skills in both languages.
-   Previous professional interpreting experience is preferred.
-   Certification or formal interpreter training is a plus but not required.
-   Strong understanding of Samoan culture and the ability to provide culturally appropriate interpretation.
-   Excellent listening, memory, and interpersonal skills.
-   Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy, neutrality, and attention to detail.
