## Description

We are looking for dedicated and capable **Semi-Skilled Technical Workers** to join upcoming petrochemical projects across South Africa and Namibia. This application is designated to capture candidates across all semi-skilled levels (Categories 1, 2, 3 and 4). Your application will be categorised based on your screening questions, skills, and specific years of experience and qualifications.

This role involves supporting qualified tradespersons in delivering safe ,high-quality, and efficient mechanical works in high-risk industrial environments such as fuel storage depots and refineries.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on industrial or **petrochemical projects** and will be comfortable working in demanding site environments where quality, safety, and teamwork are critical. You should be hands-on, eager to learn, and capable of supporting mechanical teams to meet strict project deadlines and quality standards.

**Responsibilities**

-   Assist in boiler making, welding, and pipefitting tasks under supervision.
-   Prepare materials and components for fabrication and assembly.
-   Support installation of piping, tanks, and structural components according to technical drawings.
-   Conduct basic measurements, cutting, and grinding as required.
-   Maintain clean, organised, and safe work areas.
-   Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site; wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times.
-   Report unsafe practices, hazards, or equipment faults immediately.
-   Follow site HSE protocols and ISO/QCP guidelines.
-   Assist qualified tradespersons and work cooperatively with the mechanical team, supervisors, and QA/QC staff.
-   Communicate effectively regarding task progress, material needs, or issues.
-   Support the team in meeting project deadlines and quality standards.

## Requirements

**Qualifications**

-   Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
-   Valid Working at Heights training certificate.
-   Valid Confined Space Entry training certificate.
-   Understanding of Permit-to-Work systems.
-   Valid driver’s license advantageous.

**Experience**

-   Minimum 1 to 3+ years’ experience (depending on your specific CAT level) in tanks, piping, and structures in industrial or petrochemical environments.
-   Completed apprenticeship is highly advantageous.
-   Prior experience in petrochemical, fuel terminal, or high-risk industrial environments is preferred (e.g., tank repair, refurbishment, fabrication, and piping installation).
-   Cross-functional experience coordinating with scaffolding, painting, civil, QA/QC, and safety teams.

**Knowledge & Skills**

-   Mechanical assembly and support tasks in fabrication and piping works.
-   Basic welding, cutting, grinding, and fit-up techniques.
-   Reading and assisting with technical and isometric drawings.
-   Familiarity with ISO-compliant QCPs, emergency responses, and HSE protocols.
-   High-risk industrial painting applications and awareness of mechanical, civil, and electrical safety risks.
-   Strong communication, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
