## Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable **Welder / Fabricator** to join our clients 2nd shift maintenance team. This position will work closely with our diesel mechanics to repair, reinforce, and fabricate components for a fleet of garbage and refuse trucks.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and can work independently in a fast-paced shop environment.

### Responsibilities

-   Perform MIG, Stick, and other welding processes as required

-   Repair damaged truck bodies, containers, frames, and structural components
-   Fabricate brackets, supports, panels, and replacement parts
-   Cut, grind, fit, and assemble metal components
-   Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements
-   Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and durability
-   Work alongside diesel mechanics on vehicle repairs and modifications
-   Operate welding, cutting, and fabrication equipment safely
-   Maintain a clean and organized work area
-   Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements

### Qualifications

-   Previous welding and fabrication experience required

-   Experience with MIG welding preferred
-   Ability to read a tape measure accurately
-   Ability to use grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and fabrication tools
-   Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
-   Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-   Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

## Requirements

### Preferred Experience

-   Heavy equipment, truck, trailer, or fleet repair

-   Refuse truck or waste industry experience
-   Structural steel fabrication
-   Hydraulic equipment repair support
-   Manufacturing or industrial welding

### Physical Requirements

-   Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment

-   Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the shift
-   Ability to work in a shop environment that may be hot, dirty, and physically demanding
-   Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment
