Keen to further empower our team by onboarding more talent, we are looking to hire a **Welding Engineer** to join our team in **Xanthi**, **Greece**.

The role will be responsible for coordinating welding activities at a comprehensive level, supporting both the Lithium-ion and Lead-acid businesses, and ensuring that welding processes comply with applicable quality, safety, and technical standards. The Welding Engineer will develop, validate, and optimize manual and automated welding processes, create welding parameters and recipes, and reprogram robotic welding systems to support product and production-line modifications.

The position will also contribute to the specification, commissioning, FAT and SAT of new welding equipment and production lines, while supporting the introduction and ramp-up of new battery and tray products. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting weld defects and process deviations, performing root-cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and using destructive and non-destructive testing methods to evaluate weld quality.

Working closely with Product Development, Engineering and Production teams, the role will participate in design reviews, assess weldability and manufacturability, optimize joint designs, fixtures and welding sequences, and drive value-engineering and continuous-improvement initiatives. The Welding Engineer will also ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements and provide technical guidance and training to production personnel.

**Key activities and responsibilities of this role includes:**

-   Welding coordination at a comprehensive level according to the ISO 1731 and support Lithium and Lead Acid businesses in welding
-   Develop, validate, and optimize welding processes. Creation of welding recipes for automated processes and prototypes
-   Value Engineering to optimize the quality, cost and the manufacturability of the Products
-   Reprogramming Robots for Welding Lines alteration to facilitate different products in Automation processes
-   Specifications development for new welding equipment.
-   FAT/SAT of new equipment/production lines
-   Identify problems in the product development process and propose changes based on DFM processes.
-   Troubleshoot process deviations, weld defects, distortion, and dimensional concerns.
-   Analyze root causes of welding failures and implement corrective actions.
-   Support production ramp-up and continuous improvement initiatives.
-   Usage of NDT equipment for weld’s quality monitoring (Visual Testing, Precitec, etc.)
-   Usage of DT equipment for weld evaluation (Metallographic preparation, Micro/Stereoscopic analysis, Tensile testing, Hardness testing)
-   H&S conformance according to the welding processes
-   Support introduction of new battery/tray products into manufacturing.
-   Participate in design reviews for weldability and manufacturability.
-   Review component tolerances, joint design, and material compatibility.
-   Optimize fixturing and joining sequences to reduce distortion and cycle time.
-   Personnel training

## Requirements

-   **Degree**: Bachelor's in Mechanical, Materials, or Production Engineering. (Master’s or PhD degrees would be considered a plus)
-   **Welding Qualifications**: Valid International Welding Engineer certificate (**IWE**).
-   **Robotics**: Direct experience **reprogramming and altering welding robots** (ABB, KUKA, or Fanuc) would be considered a plus.
-   **Joining Processes:** Expertise in Laser Welding and automated TIG/MIG processes.
-   **Destructive Testing**: Hands-on experience with **metallographic preparation** and micro/stereoscopic analysis.
-   **Mechanical Testing**: Proficiency in tensile, hardness, and dimensional evaluation.
-   **Proficiency in English (writing & verbal) is a must**
