## Description

**About complead**

complead, formerly Sanction Scanner, is the financial crime platform we started in Istanbul in 2020. We run sanctions screening, KYC and KYB, transaction monitoring, fraud detection and case management for more than 800 financial institutions in over 80 countries, from payment companies to tier-one banks. One engine, one customer record, one audit trail.

The name changed this year because the work outgrew it. The standard underneath it did not: compliance software should be judged by what it covers, how fast it answers and whether it can explain itself.

**What we have earned so far**

- Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Türkiye, four consecutive years (the latest, our first under the complead name)
- Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA, two consecutive years
- Inc. Türkiye 100 Fastest-Growing Companies, two consecutive years
- G2 AML Overall Leader, three years running
- Listed in Fast Company Best Startups, FinCrimeTech50, RegTech100 and TOBB 100 Fast Growing Companies

**The role**

We are looking for a Product Owner who sits between our customers and our engineers and makes sure what we build is exactly what compliance teams need.

You will own the backlog for a set of modules in the platform. You will turn customer requests, regulatory changes and product ideas into clear user stories that engineers can build without guessing, and you will be in the room, or on the call, until they ship.

This is a technical seat. Our product is an API-first platform used by banks and payment companies, so you will read API documentation, test endpoints yourself, query data to answer your own questions and talk to engineers in their language. Most of our customers are outside Türkiye, so much of this work happens in English.

**What you will own**

- **The backlog.** Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria, edge cases and API contracts. Keep the backlog ordered, groomed and honest about what is next.
- **Sprints.** Run refinement, sprint planning and reviews with the engineering team. Answer their questions the same day, so nobody is blocked waiting for product.
- **Technical detail.** Understand how a screening rule, a matching algorithm or an integration actually works. Test APIs in Postman, check logs and data with SQL, and catch a problem before it reaches a customer.
- **Acceptance and releases.** Run UAT, accept or reject finished work against the criteria you wrote, and write release notes customers can understand.
- **Customers.** Join calls with compliance officers and technical teams abroad, run demos of new features, and turn what you hear into backlog items. Much of this is in English.
- **Working with AI.** Use AI tools such as Claude, Cursor or v0 to research, draft specs and test cases, analyse data and build quick prototypes, so the team ships faster.

**What your first year looks like**

In your first month you learn the product, AML compliance basics and the codebase at the level a product owner needs, and you sit in refinement and customer calls. By month three you own the backlog for your modules, run their sprints and accept releases on your own. By month twelve your modules ship on the dates you committed to, engineers rarely come back with "what did you mean here", and you have shipped at least one feature that customers asked for by name.

## Requirements

**What we are looking for**

- At least 3 years of experience as a product owner, product manager or business analyst on a B2B software product, working directly with an engineering team in an agile setup.
- A technical foundation. You understand REST APIs, JSON and integrations, test endpoints yourself in Postman or a similar tool, and write SQL for your own analysis. A background in software engineering, QA or a computer science degree is a strong plus.
- User stories that engineers can build from. You can show us a story or spec you wrote, with acceptance criteria and edge cases.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (Boards), Jira or a similar tool.
- Fluent spoken English. You can run a demo, clarify requirements with a customer's technical team and hold your ground in a discussion in English. Reading and writing alone are not enough, and part of our interview process is in English.
- Fluent Turkish.
- Daily use of AI tools at work, beyond writing emails.
- Experience in fintech, banking, payments, AML or compliance is a strong plus.
- Attention to detail and follow-through. You notice the missing edge case and the ticket nobody updated, and you close the loop without being asked.
- A bachelor's degree, ideally in engineering, computer science or a related field.
- You are happy to work from our office in Üsküdar, Istanbul. This role is on-site.

**Before you apply**

This role is for someone who likes the detail. If you want to talk about strategy and leave the stories to someone else, it is not the right seat. If you enjoy knowing exactly how a feature works, writing it down so clearly that nobody has to ask twice, and explaining it to a bank abroad in English, it is.

## Benefits

**What comes with the job**

- **Competitive pay.** Net salary with additional fringe benefits, reviewed as you grow with us.
- **Private health insurance.** Cover for you from your first month, with family cover available.
- **Lunch in the office.** Cooked lunch every working day, plus breakfast and coffee.
- **Learning budget.** Certifications (including product, agile and AML/compliance), courses and conferences.
- **Hardware and AI tools.** The machine and setup you work well on, plus the AI tools and software you need.
- **Time off.** Statutory leave plus company days, and the expectation that you take them.
- **Direct access.** You work next to the people who make the decisions.

**How we hire**

Four steps, about three weeks end to end: your application (every one is read, and you hear back within two days), a 45-minute first conversation, partly in English, a short work sample (turn a real customer request into user stories with acceptance criteria and an API change, plus the prompts or tools you used), and a visit to meet the team and see the office before the offer. Please check the career page on the website.

**Equal opportunity**

We hire for talent, ownership and fit. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, ethnicity or social background.
