**About the Role**  
Our client is an international organization operating complex, business-critical infrastructure across multiple regions. The company is undertaking a strategic assessment of its datacenter technology and operating model.

We are looking for a **Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Architect** to lead the technical evaluation of the existing environment and recommend a future-ready architecture. The role combines datacenter architecture, Microsoft Azure, virtualization, hybrid cloud, infrastructure modernization, and technology selection.

You will assess alternative solutions, compare vendors objectively, and develop a recommendation covering architecture, resilience, operational requirements, lifecycle considerations, and migration feasibility.

**CONTRACT**: Full-time engagement; long-term

**COMMITMENT**: 40 hours per week

**LOCATIONS**: Belgium / Europe; specific work arrangement to be confirmed

**PROCESS**: Initial qualification followed by technical and client interviews

**NOTES**: Fluent English required. The role supports infrastructure operations across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC.

**Key Responsibilities**

-   Assess the existing datacenter infrastructure, technology landscape, and dependencies.
    
-   Consolidate business, security, operational, and resilience requirements into architecture principles.
    
-   Design target architectures covering compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and automation.
    
-   Evaluate on-premises, hybrid cloud, and externally managed infrastructure models.
    
-   Compare technology platforms and vendors using objective technical criteria.
    
-   Develop architecture scenarios and assess feasibility, compatibility, risks, and long-term suitability.
    
-   Evaluate infrastructure reuse, hardware lifecycle, and modernization requirements.
    
-   Define a high-level migration roadmap, including dependencies and risks.
    
-   Provide technical inputs for licensing, sizing, support, migration effort, and total cost of ownership.
    
-   Present architecture recommendations and decision materials to senior stakeholders.

## Requirements

-   10+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, systems, or enterprise architecture, including complex transformation projects.
    
-   Strong end-to-end knowledge of datacenter architecture, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
    
-   Advanced Microsoft Azure architecture experience, including landing zones, networking, security, storage, monitoring, and cost optimization.
    
-   Experience designing and evaluating on-premises, hybrid cloud, and public-cloud environments.
    
-   Strong knowledge of enterprise virtualization and VDI, including VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix.
    
-   Experience leading large-scale datacenter or cloud migrations, including architecture assessments, technology comparisons, and migration roadmaps.
    
-   Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, FinOps, DevSecOps, and operational governance.
    
-   Ability to evaluate infrastructure lifecycle, resilience, vendor dependencies, and operating models.
    
-   Experience advising senior stakeholders and delivering executive-level architecture recommendations.
    
-   Excellent written and spoken English.
