## Description

The Bourne Housing Authority, established in 1965, is dedicated to providing and maintaining affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals and families in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 121B. Operating under the guidance of a five-member Board of Commissioners and regulatory agencies such as the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Authority manages properties across Bourne, Pocasset, and Buzzards Bay that serve senior citizens, families, and individuals with special needs. Our mission is to ensure safe, decent, and sanitary living conditions while promoting economic self-sufficiency and overall well-being of our residents through efficient resource management and supportive community services. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Support Specialist to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our administrative staff by managing clerical duties, coordinating communications, maintaining records, and assisting in the daily operations of the Housing Authority. ### Responsibilities

-   Provide comprehensive administrative support to the executive director and administrative staff.
-   Manage incoming communications including phone calls, emails, and mail, ensuring timely and professional responses.
-   Maintain and organize records, documents, and files in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
-   Assist in preparing reports, correspondence, and presentations for the Board of Commissioners and regulatory agencies.
-   Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparation of agendas, and documentation of minutes.
-   Support the processing of applications, tenant information, and other resident-related documentation.
-   Help manage office supplies, vendor communications, and other logistical needs of the office.

## Requirements

-   High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
-   Proven experience in administrative support, preferably within a government or housing authority setting.
-   Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
-   Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new software.
-   Effective verbal and written communication skills.
-   Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
-   Familiarity with Massachusetts housing laws, HUD regulations, or public housing administration is advantageous.
