**The Role:  
**As a Data Architect at AP+, you’ll help shape how data is designed, governed and used across the technology that supports Australia’s payments ecosystem.

You’ll translate complex business and information needs into practical, secure and scalable data architectures, providing expert guidance across data modelling, integration and solution design. Working across technology and business teams, you’ll help ensure our data platforms, standards and architecture decisions enable reliable delivery today while positioning AP+ for advanced analytics, AI and the data products of tomorrow.

**This role is responsible for:**  

-   Shape and evolve AP+’s data architecture, developing secure, scalable and reliable data solutions that align with enterprise strategy and support evolving business needs.
-   Lead data architecture and design across complex initiatives, translating business objectives and information requirements into coherent conceptual, logical and physical data designs.
-   Establish and embed data architecture standards and governance, ensuring security, privacy, quality and architectural principles are consistently applied across solutions.
-   Provide authoritative technical leadership, guiding decisions across data modelling, integration, platform design and architecture while assessing options, risks and trade-offs.
-   Enable the evolution of AP+’s modern data platforms, helping create the architecture required to support advanced analytics, AI-driven insights and modern data products.
-   Build trusted partnerships across business and technology, simplifying complex data concepts, facilitating architecture decisions and identifying opportunities to create greater value from data.

**In order to be successful in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate:**

-   Significant Data Architecture experience, with the profile seeking a minimum of seven years and ideally experience within payments, banking or financial services.
-   Proven experience designing enterprise data platforms within AWS and Snowflake, including architecture that enables advanced analytics, AI-driven analysis and modern data products.
-   Strong data modelling and solution design expertise, with experience translating complex and sometimes ambiguous requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data architectures.
-   Strong technical knowledge across the modern data stack, including SQL, ETL, CI/CD pipelines and Snowflake, with exposure to analytics and visualisation tools such as Power BI and ideally ML-based analysis.
-   Demonstrated architecture leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to evaluate complex design options, manage architectural risk and provide credible specialist advice to technical and business stakeholders.
-   Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in data, information systems, computer science, engineering or a related discipline; architecture or data management certification would be advantageous.
