## Description

The Marketing and Communications Manager plays a critical role in enabling VCLS’s growth agenda by strengthening how the organisation is positioned, discovered, and engaged by clients across its priority markets in the US, Europe, and Asia. The role connects VCLS’s scientific depth, regulatory expertise, and Centres of Excellence with commercial strategy, supporting lead generation, Business Development conversations, and thought leadership in highly regulated life sciences markets.  
  
By translating VCLS expertise into focused marketing, digital activity, and market‑relevant content, this role ensures the organisation’s capabilities are visible, differentiated, and credible globally.

### Core Responsibilities: 

**Strategic Marketing & Life Sciences Positioning**

·       Support marketing activities aligned with commercial priorities and growth strategy

·       Ensure scientific credibility, regulatory awareness, and ethical standards

·       Support initiatives across US, Europe, and Asia

**Digital Marketing**

·       Coordinate website updates and revamp projects

·       Manage content, SEO optimisation, and lead generation support

·       Execute digital campaigns (web, email, social)

·       Track performance and recommend improvements

·       Ensure scientific and regulatory accuracy

**Lead Generation, Business Development & Thought Leadership**

·       Partner with Business Development and Operations on pipeline support

·       Work with Centres of Excellence on thought leadership

·       Support account-based marketing and proposals

**Communications**

·       Support internal and external communications

·       Draft materials for senior leaders

·       Support change and regulatory communications

·       Translate complex topics into clear messaging

**Governance & Compliance**

·       Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and ethical standards

·       Maintain documentation and audit readiness

## Requirements

### Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

·       Proven experience in a marketing and communications role within an international or global business environment, preferably supporting multiple regions and time zones.

·       Demonstrated experience in life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, or another regulated, science‑driven sector.

·       Strong understanding of B2B marketing within professional services or consulting environments, including long sales cycles and complex client decision‑making.

·       Demonstrated experience supporting lead generation and pipeline development, working in close partnership with Business Development and operational teams.

·       Experience translating scientific, technical, and regulatory expertise into credible marketing, digital content, and thought leadership.

·       Proven experience collaborating with senior subject‑matter experts and Centres of Excellence to develop externally facing materials and insights.

·       Solid experience in digital marketing, including website management, SEO principles, campaign execution, analytics, and performance reporting.

·       Experience working in or with the US market is strongly preferred; exposure to European and Asia‑Pacific markets is an advantage.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate accurately in regulated and high‑credibility contexts.

·       Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organisation, balancing global standards with local market needs.

·       Degree‑level qualification in Marketing, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
