**Maintenance Leading Hand | Deer Park**

**Lead tooling, drive maintenance excellence, and play a key role in keeping our manufacturing operations running efficiently.**

**Pipemakers** is seeking an experienced and hands-on **Maintenance Leading Hand** to join our manufacturing team in Deer Park.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically minded professional who enjoys leading by example, solving technical challenges, and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you’ll be overseeing maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime, and support safe, efficient production.

**Your responsibilities will include:**

-   Conducting preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment
-   Supervising and supporting the maintenance team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance activities
-   Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan, record, and manage maintenance activities.
-   Support engineering projects, equipment installations, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
-   Monitoring equipment performance and identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and productivity
-   Maintaining tooling, ensuring correct storage, cleanliness and accurate tooling records
-   Collaborating with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives
-   Ordering maintenance parts and tooling as required and maintaining maintenance documentation
-   Promoting a strong safety culture through compliance with site procedures, permit systems, LOTO requirements and WHS initiatives

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

-   5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing or plant environments, including 5+ years leading maintenance staff, allocating work, supporting trades or fitters, and coordinating with production on breakdowns and planned maintenance
-   Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-   A proactive and safety-focused approach
-   The ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
-   Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
-   Proficiency with computer systems and maintenance documentation
-   A current Forklift Licence and a valid EWP license

**Desirable**

-   Experience within plastics, extrusion or manufacturing environments
-   Knowledge of extrusion tooling, PVC, OPVC or PE production processes
-   Experience with preventative maintenance systems and equipment troubleshooting
-   Understanding of quality systems, continuous improvement practices and workplace health and safety requirements
