Brampton, Ontario

Build Something From the Ground Up

NFI Group is establishing a new state-of-the-art Service Centre in Brampton, Ontario to support New Flyer, MCI and Alexander Dennis products across the Greater Toronto Area.

We are seeking a Service Centre Manager to lead the startup and ongoing operation of this new facility. This is a unique opportunity to join the project during the development phase and play a key role in building the team, establishing processes, supporting facility readiness, and creating a high-performing service operation from day one.

The Service Centre Manager will provide leadership for service operations, customer support, safety, employee engagement, and operational performance while partnering closely with Service, Facilities, Human Resources, and other business functions throughout the startup and operational phases.

## Requirements

What You Will Do

Site Startup & Business Launch

-   Support the successful launch of the Brampton Service Centre.
-   Partner with project stakeholders on facility readiness activities.
-   Assist in developing operational processes and workflows.
-   Support equipment installation, operational planning, and site commissioning activities.
-   Participate in workforce planning and recruitment activities to build the site team.
-   Establish a strong culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and customer service.

Leadership & People Management

-   Recruit, develop, and lead a team of technical and support employees.
-   Create a positive and engaged workplace culture.
-   Provide coaching, performance management, and employee development support.
-   Ensure compliance with company policies, employment legislation, and workplace standards.
-   Partner closely with Human Resources on employee relations, staffing, and talent development initiatives.

Service Operations

-   Oversee daily service centre operations including warranty, repair, inspection, and facility maintenance activities.
-   Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to customer expectations.
-   Support scheduling, resource allocation, labour utilization, and productivity management.
-   Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
-   Drive strong quality and customer satisfaction outcomes.

Customer Support

-   Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
-   Act as a primary point of contact for operational issues and service delivery concerns.
-   Support customer acceptance activities and warranty-related work.
-   Ensure timely resolution of service issues.

Safety & Compliance

-   Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
-   Support workplace inspections, incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety initiatives.
-   Ensure operational readiness and ongoing compliance with company standards and industry requirements.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

-   Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within a service, maintenance, transportation, manufacturing, fleet, automotive, heavy equipment, or related environment.
-   Experience leading technical or skilled trades employees.
-   Proven ability to manage operational performance and business results.
-   Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
-   Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
-   Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing teams.
-   Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems.

Preferred Qualifications

-   Experience launching or expanding a new facility, operation, or service location.
-   Knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, commercial transportation, transit, coach, truck, or related industries.
-   Experience with warranty operations, service centres, field service organizations, or repair facilities.
-   Post-secondary education in business, operations, engineering, transportation, or a related discipline.
-   Trades certification or technical background considered an asset.
