## Description

Our Transmission group is growing, and we are currently looking to add a **Vice President, Transmission** to support our Eastern Canadian Operations, based in Toronto, ON.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Transmission, this executive level position will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing and driving our strategic direction in Eastern Canada. This role will lead and execute operational strategies that align with the company’s vision, objectives, and growth plans, ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and sustainability.

We are looking for a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the Electrical Transmission landscape in Canada, a proven track record in operations management, and exceptional leadership skills to drive high-performing teams.  It will oversee multiple areas, drive initiatives, and cultivate relationships to advance Valard’s mission and market presence.

_Please Note: the position will require travel and across Eastern Canada and to Alberta as needed._

### Duties and Responsibilities

_Strategic Leadership & Operations Oversight:_

-   Develop and execute a strategic vision and operational strategy to grow Transmission operations in Eastern Canada, aligning with Valard’s corporate objectives and driving sustainable growth
-   Oversee day-to-day Transmission operations in Eastern Canada, including customer leadership management, contract management, workforce management, and resource optimization
-   Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, and market expansion, to strengthen Valard’s position in Eastern Canada
-   Foster an entrepreneurial culture, leveraging innovative approaches to enhance service offerings and competitive advantage

_Stakeholder Engagement and Brand Representation:_

-   Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers (LDCs) services partners, suppliers, community leaders, government bodies and regulatory authorities
-   Address and resolve operational issues with clients, partners, and stakeholders to ensure commercial excellence and high levels of satisfaction

_Financial Oversight:_

-   Own the profit and loss (P&L) for Eastern Canada
-   Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure all projects and initiatives are delivered within financial parameters
-   Provide strategic input on pricing, contract terms, and investment decisions to maximize revenue and margins
-   Drive key operational metrics such as productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction to meet company standards

_Leadership and Team Oversight:_

-   Provide strategic direction to operational leaders in the Transmission group, ensuring alignment with corporate goals
-   Mentor and develop senior leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation
-   Drive talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to ensure the company has the right mix of skills and expertise to achieve its objectives
-   Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the operations team and across the business
-   Promote a safe, inclusive, and high-performance work environment, aligning with Valard’s values and commitment to employee well-being

_Reporting & Communication:_

-   Provide regular updates and reports to the COO and Executive Leadership Team on the performance of operations, including key performance indicators (KPIs), financial performance, and strategic initiatives
-   Represent the company at industry conferences, stakeholder meetings, and public forums to share insights, best practices, and position the company as a leader in the market

_Government and Indigenous Relations:_

-   Build and maintain strong relationships with provincial and municipal government officials to influence policy, secure contracts, and ensure compliance with regulations
-   Lead engagement with Indigenous communities, fostering respectful partnerships, ensuring cultural sensitivity, and advancing economic reconciliation through collaboration on projects and initiatives
-   Represent Valard in high-level negotiations, public forums, and industry associations to enhance the company’s reputation and influence

## Requirements

-   Post Secondary education in a relevant field
-   10 - 15 years of senior leadership experience in construction, infrastructure, energy, or related industries, with a focus on strategic growth and business development

-   An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered

-   Strong P&L management experience, with a history of driving financial performance and achieving revenue and profitability targets as well as proven proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to drive sound business decisions
-   Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple operational leaders or business units, with a focus on strategic growth rather than operational management
-   Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent Valard in high-stakes settings and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
-   Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of translating market insights into actionable business plans
-   Deep understanding of Eastern Canada's economic, regulatory, and cultural landscape, including familiarity with construction industry trends and labor market dynamics
-   Proven expertise in government relations, with a track record of engaging with provincial and municipal stakeholders to secure contracts or influence policy and Indigenous relations, with demonstrated success building partnerships and advancing economic reconciliation
-   Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities in competitive markets

**Preferred Skills / Qualifications**

-   Advanced Degree (MBA or other relevant advanced degree)
-   Certification in leadership, government relations, or Indigenous engagement (e.g., Indigenous Canada Certificate, PMP)

## Benefits

This position offers a base salary range of **$275 000 – $325 000 annually + incentives**, depending on experience and qualifications.
