## Description

We are Pinely, a high-frequency algorithmic trading firm based in Amsterdam.

Our team specializes in developing robust and adaptive strategies applicable across a wide range of financial instruments and exchanges. We actively support the Olympiad movement, and many of our colleagues are prize-winning mathematicians, researchers and engineers.

Researchers at Pinely benefit from working in a fast-paced HFT environment, where the impact of their ideas is quickly visible in production. The research teams are supported by a world-class infrastructure group that ensures smooth deployment and reliable experimentation at scale.

Our flat organizational structure encourages autonomy, creativity, and direct ownership. We value an informal, idea-driven culture where innovation is celebrated and every contribution matters.

We are looking for a Quantitative Developer for our Amsterdam-based office who will join one of our Trading teams.

This role bridges trading research and software development: you will write production code that directly drives strategy performance, working alongside researchers on problems where engineering quality has immediate P&L impact.

**Responsibilities**

-   Owning the team’s strategy code;
-   Independently building and shipping strategy improvements where the path from idea to production is a significant engineering challenge;
-   Accelerating the team's research cycle using our in-house AI development tools - from agentic coding assistants to end-to-end AI-driven research workflows;
-   Coordinating technical work with infrastructure teams;
- Maintaining the base of analytical scripts, making our solution more scalable.

**Requirements**

-   Strong mathematical and algorithmic thinking, and a solid understanding of mathematical statistics and probability theory;
-   Willingness to dive deep into strategy details and market microstructure;
-   Desire to improve infrastructure, code, and surrounding processes;
- Ability to write high-quality code in Python 3 and C++.

**Nice to have**

- Experience in AI will be a bug plus! In our company, Quantitative Developers extensively use AI tools in their workflows, and prior experience in this area is a significant advantage.
- We expect familiarity with core machine learning concepts and a strong willingness to grow in this direction. If your ML/data science experience needs refreshing, we will help you quickly update and expand your knowledge during your first months with us. Deep expertise in ML is not a mandatory requirement.

**What we offer**

-   A dynamic and international environment within a fast-growing tech company;
-   Competitive salary at the upper end of the market, along with significant bonuses twice a year;
-   Freedom to shape internal culture and create meaningful employee experiences, team-building activities;
-   Health insurance, reimbursement of sports expenses; coverage for language courses;
- A supportive, experienced team that values collaboration — and where your impact will be visible every day.
