Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes in Brisbane are spaces where participants can thrive, grow, and enjoy meaningful experiences, and we need passionate people to make it happen.  

We are seeking exceptional Community Support Workers who have strong capability supporting clients with **psychosocial disabilities, complex behaviours and/or physical disabilities**, and who are passionate about empowering individuals to participate in the community.

As a Community Support Worker you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to participate in community activities, develop social connections, and pursue their interests and goals. You will support clients in various settings, including recreational activities, educational programs and vocational opportunities, using a trauma-informed and person-centred approach.

**Responsibilities**

-   Collaborate with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to create engaging, person-centred support plans
-   Provide support to clients with **psychosocial disabilities, behaviours of concern and/or high-intensity needs**, using Positive Behaviour Support strategies and trauma-informed practice
-   Engage clients in meaningful activities that foster social connections, community participation and skill development
-   Ensure a safe environment for clients and promote positive behaviour interventions
-   Support clients with **physical disabilities**, including mobility assistance and the safe use of assistive equipment (where required)
-   Promote independence and empower clients to make informed choices
-   Document client progress and report any concerns to the relevant team members
-   Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations

**Requirements**

-   Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) or relevant qualification preferred
-   Current First Aid and CPR certification
-   Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
-   A current NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
-   MAYBO, MHFA, Crisis Intervention or Alcohol/Addiction training highly desired
-   **Experience supporting clients with psychosocial disabilities, complex behaviours and/or high-intensity needs is strongly preferred**
