**Happier at Home** provides companion care to help seniors stay independent and remain in the comforts of their own home.

**Requirements:**

-   **HCA (Home Care Aid Registration):** to register go to _California Home Care Aide Registry_. Our Agency Name: _Desert Home Care LLC DBA Happier at Home 334700246_. PIN Number: **34SREC** and complete fingerprinting if necessary.
-   **TB Test**: Test must be done within 90 days before hire. Otherwise, it can be done at most urgent care centers or primary doctors' offices.
-   **CPR:** to obtain go to _National CPR Foundation_ website.
-   Must pass background check/MVR/Drug Test.

**Preferred:**

-   Reliable transportation
-   Driver License
-   Auto Insurance

**About the role:** Caregivers help the elderly (in their homes) with a variety of activities.

**Responsibilities**

**Personal Care Services – assists with:**

-   Bath (tub, shower, or bed).
-   Oral hygiene.
-   Grooming with care of hair.
-   Ordinary care of nails.
-   Routine skin care/ lotion massage.
-   Positioning and turning of patents that cannot assist self- in bed and chair.
-   Toileting assist, incontinent care.
-   Eating.
-   Dressing
-   Walking
-   Toileting.
-   Medication reminders for self-administered medications

**Homemaking - assists with:**

-   Meal planning and preparation in accordance with complex and modified diets.
-   Feeding the client.
-   Linen change.
-   Laundry.
-   Light housekeeping.
-   Washing dishes.
-   Clean kitchen.
-   Dust & vacuum (only those rooms the client uses).
-   List needed supplies and grocery shopping.

**Required to:**

-   Follow universal precautions whenever giving any aspect of client service.
-   Maintain confidentiality.
-   Perform ONLY those functions specified for individual client on the service plan.
-   Respond to the physical, emotional, and development needs of clients.
-   Follow emergency procedures in the event of any incident, i.e., accident, injury, or significant change in client’s condition.

**Essential Administrative Functions:**

-   Follows client rights always.
-   Records each activity performed on each case on a daily basis.
-   Reports any incidents or client changes immediately.
-   Follows instructions, is punctual, and is at work as scheduled.
-   Follows all appropriate Organization policies.
-   Attends in-service education annually per Organization policy.
-   Provides all information required for the maintenance of her/his personnel record as per State regulations and Organization policy.
-   Shows interest, asks questions, and seeks help as indicated; is receptive to supervision.
-   Develops relationships and is cooperative with client, family, and supervisor.
-   Maintains an appropriate appearance.
-   Productive and uses time efficiently.
-   Self-reliant and plans appropriately.
-   Performs other duties as are reasonably assigned.
-   Sign SOC 341A (Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders)

**Functional Abilities:**

-   Able to lift, turn, and transfer clients weighing up to 150+ pounds.
-   Able to carry bundles upstairs weighing up to 10 pounds.
-   Able to stoop and bend.
-   Able to travel to prospective client’s place of residence.
-   Able to hear and effectively communicate in English.
-   Meal planning and preparation
-   Transportation
-   Shopping and errands
-   Light housekeeping
-   Stripping the beds
-   Laundry
-   Set-up and monitoring of bathing and dressing
-   Companionship
-   Mental stimulation
-   Encouragement and monitoring of exercises
-   Overnight care

**Job Type:** Part-time

**Salary**: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
