**Job Overview:**

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our team at The Morris Proper. As a Prep Cook, you are the backbone of our kitchen. Your precision, organization, and care ensure that our chefs have everything they need to create exceptional meals. From chopping vegetables to preparing sauces, your work directly shapes the quality and consistency of every dish we serve.

**What You’ll Do:**

-   Wash, chop, and prepare fresh produce, meats, and seafood according to recipe specifications.
-   Measure and mix ingredients for sauces, dressings, and marinades.
-   Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation in compliance with food safety standards.
-   Assist chefs with basic cooking tasks during peak service hours.
-   Properly store ingredients and label items to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
-   Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to the kitchen manager.

-   **Staffing and Safety:**  
    Follow health department regulations, ServeSafe guidelines, and food safety standards.  
    Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation, ensuring tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly at the end of each shift.  
    Adhere to safety protocols when handling knives, hot surfaces, and equipment to prevent injuries.  
    Report accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to management immediately.

## Requirements

**What We Need From You:**

-   Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred, but we’re happy to train the right person.
-   Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
-   Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
-   Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and quality.
-   Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
-   Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
-   Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work in varying temperatures.
-   Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from ground to overhead for moderate distances.
-   Ability to push and pull forces of up to 50 lbs.
