## Description

**Position Purpose:**

The server is responsible for receiving and expediting food and beverage orders and assisting guests in order to create a satisfying and luxurious dining experience.

**Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:**

-   _Set up dining area and server stations before each shift_
-   _Stay informed of daily menu updates, seasonal products and local food offerings_
-   _Set tables prior to guest arrival with appropriate utensils, condiments etc._
-   _Restock all stations_
-   _Greet and introduce oneself to guests in designated sections in timely manner_
-   _Check identification for guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcoholic drinks_
-   _Communicate with guests in a poised and professional manner_
-   _Receive food and beverage orders at assigned tables, offering assistance and section recommendations, as necessary_
-   _Check in with guests consistently to ensure satisfaction_
-   _Serve water, coffee and tea to guests_
-   _Prepare cocktails as ordered and deliver to guests or bartender_
-   _Run food from kitchen, as needed_
-   _Complete all side work and daily cleaning tasks in checklist binder_
-   Adhere to cleaning duties required at end of shift
-   _Remove dishes and glasses from tables and take to kitchen during meals_
-   _collect payments and cash guest out correctly_
-   _Complete and produce accurate check-outs at the end of each shift_
-   _Allocate tips to all support staff per AIDR expectations_
-   Report all issues in the dining area to restaurant management team
-   _Maintain the cleanliness of the service area_
-   _Attend all mandatory training and meetings_
-   _Maintain positive and helpful attitude with all guests and Inns of Aurora employees_
-   _Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to proper dress policy, as defined in the IOA handbook_
-   _Follow guidelines and expectations as stated in the employee handbook_
-   _Other duties, as assigned_

## Requirements

-   Excellent verbal communication skills

-   Ability to multi-task

-   Ability to maintain neat, professional and clean appearance and practices

-   Ability to work while standing for long periods of time

-   Ability to work in a team environment with other servers, host, bartenders, chefs and other Inns of Aurora employees

-   Ability to adhere to proper food regulation standards and health and safety standards

-   High level of professionalism and passion for the industry

-   Ability to maintain calm and collected demeanor under and fast-paced working conditions

-   Ability to work efficiently on a team with other servers, chefs, and all other Inns of Aurora team members

-   Flexibility with scheduling

**PREFERENCES**

-   Previous serving experience
-   Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety procedures
