## Description

Auckland One Rail (AOR) operates Auckland's passenger rail services and maintains stations, depots, and rollingstock. As Auckland's rail network continues to evolve and grow, we're looking for a skilled Rollingstock Technician to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Auckland's passenger rail fleet while gaining valuable experience within a dynamic rail environment.

### **About the Role**

As a Fixed-Term Rollingstock Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering major improvement programmes across Auckland One Rail's EMU fleet. Working as part of a dedicated project team, you'll carry out planned modification and refurbishment activities that enhance the reliability, safety, and long-term performance of our trains.

You'll be involved in a range of fleet improvement projects and other planned engineering initiatives. When project priorities allow, you'll also support the day-to-day delivery of preventative maintenance activities to help maintain fleet availability.

This role operates Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm, providing a consistent work schedule while supporting the successful delivery of both fleet improvement projects and operational maintenance requirements.

## Requirements

### **What You'll Bring**

To be considered for this role, you **must hold a relevant trade qualification and have at least one year of relevant heavy vehicle, rail, or industrial maintenance experience.**

### **Essential Requirements**

-   Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
-   **Minimum one year of hands-on experience in heavy vehicle, rail, industrial, or similar maintenance environments.**
-   Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
-   Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
-   Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
-   Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
-   Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

### **Desirable Skills and Experience**

-   Previous experience within the rail industry.
-   Knowledge of rail-specific systems, equipment, and maintenance standards.
-   Welding and fabrication experience.
-   Experience working with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
