**What is Senior Data Engineer - Teknosys?**

We are looking for someone who has previously worked in the field of Data Engineering and can bring value to Teknosys by benefitting from previous engagements. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, truthful, innovative, collaborative and customer focused, and must demonstrate these traits from previous experiences of these abilities. The candidate needs to have worked on multiple data engineering platforms across various cloud, on-prem and open-source technologies. You will be joining a team of diverse data engineering functions with state of art technology stack with various project teams and will be reporting directly to Practice Lead.  
  
**What does a Senior Data Engineer - Teknosys do?**

-   Deliver data engineering projects and collaborate with other teams across Teknosys on data-related initiatives
-   Work on external engagements for external clients within the domain of Data Engineering; as a standalone SME or lead a technical team to deliver projects
-   Identify the improvement areas in Data Engineering and propose solutions to fill those gaps
-   Propose new technologies and methods that could benefit the Data Engineering function
-   Stakeholder management, both internal and external
-   Develop and implement practice frameworks to improve service delivery and engineering best practices.
-   Deliver on the functional backlog across the value chain, from data ingestion to processing to storage and pipeline orchestration
-   Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to meet the analytical and operational requirements of the company

## Requirements

**What are we looking for and what does it require to be Senior Data Engineer - Teknosys?**

-   Minimum 8 years of experience in Data Engineering domain
-   Strong experience working with traditional data warehouses (Teradata, Oracle), modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift), and various database technologies including relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB), and columnar stores
-   Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
-   Understanding of open-source data engineering tools including Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, NiFi, Hadoop, Hive, and Presto
-   In-depth and hands-on knowledge of Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and Data Management
-   Experience implementing modern data architecture patterns such as data mesh, data fabric, lakehouse architecture, and medallion architecture
-   Knowledge of solution architecture of complex data ecosystems including RDBMS, distributed systems, real-time streaming, batch processing, and data orchestration 
-   Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio, and expertise in dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, data vault, and normalization techniques
-   Experience with enterprise ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, Talend, and Ab Initio
-   Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, SQL, or Java for data pipeline development
-   Experience working with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools
-   Working experience in one or more business areas and industries: Telecom, Retail, Financial Services, etc.
-   Expertise in working on RFPs, technical proposals, and solution architecture documentation
-   Project management experience of delivering complex data engineering projects of varying nature such as cloud migrations, data platform modernization, real-time streaming implementations, legacy system upgrades, and greenfield data infrastructure buildouts
-   Willingness to work on and deliver on External Project Engagements on (Onsite / Offshore) Models.
