**About the role**

Designer Group is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Dublin.

This is a strong opportunity for a recently qualified accountant who wants to build their career in a fast-paced, international engineering and construction business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support month-end reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance, payroll review, audit preparation and wider finance projects across the business.

You will be joining Designer Group at an exciting stage of growth, with a strong pipeline of work across Ireland, the UK, Europe and international markets.

**What you will do**

As Financial Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller and wider Finance team across core accounting, reporting and compliance activity. 

Your responsibilities will include:

·        Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs

·        Posting monthly general ledger journals

·        Reviewing bank reconciliations

·        Reviewing supplier reconciliations

·        Managing intercompany reconciliations across the group

·        Maintaining the fixed asset register and lease records

·        Preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations

·        Preparation of returns for Tax & Statutory bodies - VAT, PAYE, WHT, CSO

·        Manage AP team including reporting on metrics

·        Supporting payroll and expenses processes

·        Month-end close process to ensure deadlines are met

·        Annual audit file preparation

·        Working on finance improvement projects to support business performance

·        Helping ensure the Finance team delivers accurate, timely and reliable information to the wider business

## Requirements

**What we are looking for**

We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and comfortable working in a busy finance environment.

You will ideally have:

·        Qualified accountant

·        Strong ledger experience up to trial balance level

·        Good understanding of reconciliations, journals and month-end processes

·        Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel

·        Payroll experience

·        Overseas experience would be beneficial

·        Report building using system and other tools such as Power BI would be an advantage

·        Excellent attention to detail

·        Strong organisational and time management skills

·        Ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment

·        Good communication and interpersonal skills

·        A proactive, self-motivated approach

·        Experience in construction, engineering, M&E or project-based environments would be beneficial, but is not essential
