## Description

**Job Title: Patient Scheduling & Referral Coordinator**

**Position type:** Full-Time

**Working Hours:** 9:00 AM -5:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, Monday - Friday

**Salary rate :** $5-$7 per hour

### Job Responsibilities:

-   Answer incoming patient calls professionally and promptly
-   Return missed calls and voicemails in a timely manner
-   Address patient inquiries and route urgent concerns appropriately
-   Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
-   Manage provider calendars efficiently
-   Conduct follow-up “re-spark” calls to encourage rescheduling
-   Process incoming and outgoing patient referrals
-   Coordinate with providers, specialists, and insurance companies
-   Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
-   Confirm coverage details prior to appointments
-   Assist with medical billing tasks
-   Support claim processing and coding accuracy
-   Maintain accurate patient records in Practice Fusion
-   Perform data entry and documentation tasks

## Requirements

-   At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant, Medical Receptionist, or Healthcare Administrator
-   Clinical or medical background highly preferred
-   Experience using Practice Fusion EMR strongly preferred
-   Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and referrals
-   Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes
-   Strong phone communication and customer service skills
-   Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
-   Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
-   Strong responsiveness and follow-through

### Basic requirements

-   Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
-   Must have relevant work experience
-   Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding \[mandatory\]
-   Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)

### Technical requirements

-   **Audio:** Noise-canceling headset.
-   **Video:** Webcam for virtual meetings.
