## Description

Fetch Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Centers is a **family-owned** hospital dedicated to providing excellent care to pets in our community. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team in our Greenville hospital. As a Veterinary Technician in Oncology, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to pets undergoing treatment for cancer.

### Responsibilities

-   Assist our oncologist in all aspects of patient care, including but not limited to handling, restraint, and medication administration
-   Obtain thorough patient history and vital signs
-   Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies needed for procedures
-   Monitor and document patient progress during treatment
-   Perform routine diagnostic procedures including blood work, cytology and radiology
-   Administer treatments, such as chemotherapy, under the guidance of veterinarians
-   Assist with procedures such as ultrasound, biopsy, CT(computed tomography) and other specialized treatments
-   Monitor patients during anesthetic procedures and recovery
-   Provide support to pet owners facing a cancer diagnosis through educational and compassionate interactions
-   Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

## Requirements

-   High school diploma or equivalent
-   Certification as a veterinary technician preferred
-   Previous experience working in an oncology setting highly preferred
-   Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and techniques
-   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-   Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
-   Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting
-   Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
