**Kenya Country Program Overview**

iDE Kenya implements sustainable, high-impact programs focused on economic empowerment, food security, nutrition, and climate resilience. Through partnerships with governments, private sector actors, NGOs, and donors, the program strengthens market systems, improves access to nutritious food, and supports climate-adaptive agriculture.

**Position Overview**

The Finance & HR Officer will provide integrated support across finance, human resources, payroll administration, compliance, procurement support, and office operations. The role will support financial management and donor compliance while ensuring effective HR service delivery and efficient administration of iDE Kenya operations. The position serves as a key focal point for payroll, statutory compliance, recruitment, employee lifecycle management, procurement administration, and operational compliance. 

The role works closely with the Finance and Operations Manager, Country Team Lead, and HQ HR team to support efficient resource utilization, operational coordination, and compliance.

**Key Responsibilities**

1.  _Finance & Compliance (50%)_

-   Process payment requests, staff reimbursements, travel advances, supplier invoices and supporting documentation.
-   Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management processes.
-   Assist with monthly financial reporting, budget monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis.
-   Coordinate payroll processing and statutory remittances including PAYE, SHIF, Housing Levy, NSSF, HELB and NITA.
-   Support bank reconciliations and maintenance of complete financial records.
-   Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies and Kenyan statutory requirements.
-   Support audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.
-   Support transaction processing and reporting in NetSuite and other ERP systems.

1.  _Human Resources Management (35%)_

-   Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and employee induction processes.
-   Maintain employee records, HRIS data and confidential personnel files.
-   Manage probation reviews, confirmations, contract renewals and separations.
-   Coordinate performance management and staff development activities.
-   Administer leave, employee benefits and medical insurance schemes.
-   Support employee relations, disciplinary processes and grievance management.
-   Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and HR policies.
-   Prepare HR reports, workforce data and compliance documentation.

1.  _Administration & Procurement Support (15%)_

-   Support procurement processes, quotations, evaluations and vendor documentation.
-   Maintain procurement, contract and asset records.
-   Coordinate office supplies, service providers and facilities maintenance.
-   Support travel, workshops, meetings and logistics coordination.

## Requirements

**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.

**Professional Certifications:**

-   CPA Part II or above.
-   Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
-   Certified Human Resource Professional of Kenya (CHRP-K).
-   Additional HR, procurement or compliance certifications are an added advantage.

**Experience:**

-   Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience.
-   Experience in finance, payroll, HR administration and compliance.
-   Experience in an international NGO or donor-funded environment preferred.
-   Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and statutory requirements.
-   Experience using NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
