The Mine Planner will join the technical services team supporting underground mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing short-range and mid-range mine plans, coordinating with operations and technical teams, and ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

This role will play a key part in mine design, production forecasting, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a strong field presence underground to support execution and operational success.

### Key Responsibilities

### Mine Planning & Scheduling

-   Develop and maintain short-term and mid-term mine production and development plans.
-   Create detailed underground mine designs including development headings, production stopes, access ramps, infrastructure, and services.
-   Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly production forecasts and schedules.
-   Monitor plan performance and adjust schedules to address operational constraints and changing priorities.
-   Support annual budget planning and forecasting activities.

### Technical Support

-   Work closely with operations, geology, geotechnical, ventilation, and survey teams to ensure plans are practical and executable.
-   Evaluate mining performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization.
-   Assist with ventilation planning, haulage optimization, and infrastructure planning.
-   Participate in reconciliation activities and production reporting.

### Safety & Operational Excellence

-   Ensure all mine plans and designs comply with applicable regulations, company standards, and best practices.
-   Apply Safety by Design principles in all planning activities.
-   Maintain regular underground field presence to validate conditions and support operational execution.
-   Participate in risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.

### Reporting & Analysis

-   Prepare production reports, forecasts, and technical presentations for site leadership.
-   Track key planning and operational KPIs and identify risks and opportunities.
-   Support life-of-mine planning activities and scenario evaluations as required.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
-   Eligible for professional registration in Canada P.Eng.
-   Minimum 8+ years of underground mine planning experience.
-   Experience in underground production and development planning.
-   Strong understanding of underground mining methods, ventilation, ground control, haulage systems, and mine infrastructure.
-   Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, MineSched, Surpac, Vulcan, or equivalent is an asset.
-   Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
-   Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

### Preferred Experience

-   Experience in hard rock underground mining environments.
-   Exposure to life-of-mine planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
-   Experience supporting operating mines through planning and production optimization.
-   Previous exposure to contractor management and project coordination is considered an asset.

### Additional Requirements

-   Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
-   Ability to work underground and meet site medical requirements.
-   Eligible to work in Canada.
-   Successful completion of pre-employment testing and screening requirements.
