## Description

### ABOUT RTHMC

rthmc builds companies, not departments. Operated by Birg Holdings, it is a venture studio that takes technology companies from idea through validation, commercialization, and scale on one shared operating system and one AI-native toolkit. **Venture 1** — our first portfolio company, a B2B SaaS business focused on vertical lead generation — is the first company built inside the studio. Many more will follow, on the same rails.

### ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring someone with the instincts of a founder who has done zero-to-one more than once, who can run our machine without the CEO in the room, and who earns enough trust that he stops checking.

rthmc is a machine-based studio: ideation, MVP, and scale are three separate lanes, each with their own gates and standards. The system is not a suggestion — your first job is to own it and hold every venture to it.

But the machine handles the black-and-white on purpose, which is exactly why you cannot be black-and-white. We need someone who sees color: someone who reads the signal beneath the noise, knows which venture to push and which to pause before the dashboard says so, and has the judgment to make the calls the playbook cannot.

This role exists so the CEO can step back responsibly. Your job is to ensure ventures launch on time, on system, and to standard, while the CEO focuses on the areas where he creates the most leverage: capital allocation, strategic partnerships, and identifying the next opportunity.

The mission is to launch two ventures within the first six months, flawlessly and on system, then scale to five to seven ventures over the following year using the same operating model. Most venture studios never attempt this pace because they build one company at a time. We can because the operating system already exists, and AI provides the leverage of an entire team. You'll rely heavily on both.

### KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

### Own the Machine

- Own the ideation, MVP, and scale stages as distinct lanes, each with clear gate criteria.
- Ensure every venture earns its progression rather than moving forward by momentum.
- Treat adherence to the operating system as non-negotiable.
- Continuously improve the system as patterns emerge across the portfolio.

### Own Launch

- Own every venture from readiness through launch.
- Make prioritization and sequencing decisions independently.
- Be accountable for launches, not just project tracking.

### Give the CEO the Read

- Provide an honest weekly assessment of portfolio health.
- Report signal rather than activity.
- Surface risks early, before they become delays.

### Build the AI Layer

- Default to AI agents before hiring people.
- Build and improve the AI operating layer that enables one operator to oversee multiple ventures simultaneously.
- Treat AI as a replacement for repetitive work, not simply a productivity tool.

### Build the Team, When It's Earned

- Identify the roles each venture genuinely requires.
- Delay hiring until the portfolio justifies it.
- Build lean, high-caliber teams with intention.

### Protect the Culture

- Normalize fast failure as part of learning.
- Prioritize market feedback over internal assumptions.
- Choose transparency over polish, especially when the news is difficult.

### SUCCESS METRICS

**First 30 days**

- Achieve complete fluency in **Venture 1**: what's shipped, what's blocked, and what's at risk.
- Establish a weekly operating cadence.

**Days 31–90**

- Eliminate at least one structural bottleneck.
- Implement a repeatable reporting framework used across ventures.

**6 months**

- Launch two ventures using the operating system.
- Produce a reusable operating playbook for future ventures.

**12 months**

- Execution runs on systems rather than constant oversight.
- Ventures three through seven launch using the same playbook, with each launch becoming faster and more efficient.
- The CEO confidently makes portfolio and resourcing decisions based on your judgment without needing to verify the underlying work.

## Requirements

- 6+ years of experience in startup operations, venture building, general management, or a comparable operating role, ideally spanning more than one company.

- Direct, hands-on experience taking at least one company from zero to launch—not supporting someone else's launch, but owning it.
- Strong working knowledge of AI tools and agentic workflows, with a track record of using them to replace team-based work, not just accelerate individual productivity.
- Experience designing or operating a structured process for de-risking new initiatives—stage gates, funnel management, or comparable venture-building systems.
- Hands-on experience managing execution across multiple workstreams, products, or business lines simultaneously without relying on a large team.
- Experience reporting directly to a CEO or founder, with the judgment to identify and escalate risks early.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide concise, honest assessments of portfolio or business health.
- Comfortable operating as an independent contractor, with compensation aligned to scope and impact rather than a traditional salary ladder.

### HIGHLY PREFERRED

- Experience within venture studios, startup holding companies, private equity operating groups, or other multi-entity organizations.
- Experience building or scaling a B2B SaaS company.
- Experience implementing structured venture-building frameworks, including stage-gate models, venture operating systems, or similar methodologies.
- Experience with AI agent orchestration, automation platforms, or building AI-native internal tooling.
- Founder experience (successful exit or otherwise) and a desire to operate at the portfolio level rather than founding another company.

### WHAT GREAT LOOKS LIKE

- Has built more than one company from zero and can clearly explain what changed with each experience.
- Treats venture outcomes as personally owned rather than escalating responsibility upward.
- Defaults to AI agents before requesting additional headcount.
- Gives the CEO bad news early—before it becomes a crisis.
- Can enforce a system rigorously while exercising sound judgment when the system alone isn't enough.
- Builds only the team the portfolio has genuinely earned.

### CANDIDATE SNAPSHOT

- Founder-minded operator with multiple zero-to-one experiences.
- Fluent in AI as a core operating capability, not just a productivity tool.
- Comfortable owning execution across a portfolio with significant autonomy.
- Motivated by building, learning, and compounding impact rather than titles or hierarchy.

## Benefits

- Fully remote. No office, no commute, just you, the operating system, and wherever you do your best work.
- This isn't about inheriting an established company. It's about building and continuously evolving the operating system that future ventures will run on.
- Core collaboration hours: **9:00 AM–12:00 PM PST**, ensuring consistent overlap with the founding team.
- Contractor engagement, paid in **USD**.
- Full compensation details will be shared directly with shortlisted candidates.
