We are looking for a highly skilled **Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer** to design, build, and scale resilient infrastructure supporting large-scale, high-performance systems. This role combines deep technical expertise in **cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, infrastructure automation, and large-scale system architecture** with the ability to drive reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on engineering capabilities and experience designing infrastructure that supports demanding workloads, complex applications, and rapidly growing technology platforms. You will play a key role in shaping infrastructure strategy, improving cloud efficiency, and building reliable systems that can scale with evolving business requirements.

## Requirements

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure for **large-scale, high-availability systems**.
- Architect and optimise cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, databases, and managed services.
- Develop infrastructure strategies that support scalability, resilience, performance, and business continuity.
- Build and maintain infrastructure automation using **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** tools such as Terraform or equivalent technologies.
- Improve deployment, provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows through automation.
- Design and maintain cloud-native infrastructure supporting distributed systems, microservices, and high-throughput applications.
- Implement robust monitoring, logging, observability, alerting, and incident-response mechanisms.
- Identify and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks, performance issues, capacity constraints, and reliability risks.
- Establish practices for disaster recovery, backup management, fault tolerance, and business continuity.
- Optimise cloud costs, resource allocation, infrastructure utilisation, and operational efficiency.
- Strengthen infrastructure security through access controls, network segmentation, vulnerability management, and compliance practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and production readiness.
- Lead root-cause analysis of complex infrastructure incidents and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Define infrastructure standards, architecture documentation, operational procedures, and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and infrastructure tools to improve system capabilities and reliability.

What Makes You a Great Fit

- **4+ years of hands-on experience** in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related roles.
- Strong expertise in designing and operating **large-scale, production-grade infrastructure systems**.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as **AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**.
- Strong knowledge of compute, storage, networking, load balancing, DNS, and cloud security fundamentals.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience with Linux systems, containerisation, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with observability tools, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and incident management.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and automated infrastructure provisioning.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and make sound infrastructure architecture decisions.
- Strong ownership, analytical thinking, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- A proactive approach to automation, reliability engineering, infrastructure optimisation, and continuous improvement.
