## Description

We are seeking a practical, reliable and technically capable Installation Technician to support the delivery, installation and commissioning of Air Traffic Control simulator systems at customer sites in the UK and overseas. 

Whilst this role will be based at our offices in Bournemouth it will involve extensive travel.

The role covers a broad range of delivery activities, from supporting bids and preparing equipment through to building, installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting and customer handover.  

It would suit a Deskside Support, Field Service or IT Infrastructure professional looking to develop within the aviation simulation sector. 

Key Duties include:

-   Delivery, installation, building, configuration and testing of simulators to customer sites 
-   Site visits to assess the viability of installs 
-   Creation of technical documents for bids 
-   Creation of installation documentation 
-   Preparation of equipment orders 
-   Configuring hardware and software 
-   Shipping of completed simulators 
-   Troubleshooting 

-   Liaising with Project Managers to ensure key milestones are met

## Requirements

-   Experience of installing and setting up computer hardware, networks, domain accounts, and of troubleshooting and rectifying user and hardware issues. 
-   Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems – both desktop (Windows 11) and server (Server 2022/2025 including roles).  
-   Understanding of the configuration and operation of server and networking infrastructure. 
-   Good understanding of hardware and software specifications. 
-   Strong problem-solving skills. 
-   Good written and presentation skills. 
-   Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to support customers of varying levels of proficiency.  
-   Ability to travel to customer sites within the UK and overseas. 
-   Valid driving license and passport. 
-   Able to undertake manual handing tasks and working in operational environments.

**Education & Experience:**

-   A good standard of education related to IT and experience in an IT-based environment. 
-   Experience and understanding of IT fault finding, including networking
-   IT professional qualification (desirable not essential). 
-   Custom Installation (CI) professional qualification (desirable not essential). 
-   Experience and understanding of CI issues, knowledge of LAN and Mains backbone specifications (desirable not required). 
-   Experience in a customer-facing role.
