## Description

-   Drive Smart Nation Strategy, to ensure that Singapore and Singaporeans thrive in the digital age, harnessing opportunities and address challenges ahead
-   Identify and anticipate digital developments across a wide sweep of domains, such as changing social norms, rising digital divides, the impact of AI, etc.
-   Sensemake the implications of these developments on our Smart Nation 2.0 goals in the near to medium-term future
-   Develop insights and strategies to guide how Government might respond, shoring up Government’s Smart Nation-related strategy or policy moves
-   This includes diagnosing key ‘problems’ or gaps in Government’s strategy that require addressing, persuading stakeholders with sharp and timely insights, working with stakeholders to incubate new policy responses and solutions
-   Navigate a wide landscape of stakeholders for the above responsibilities, including building links with diverse networks of thought leaders, collaborating on pilot projects, etc.
-   Building sensing and policy incubation capabilities across the MDDI family, to strengthen Government’s abilities to anticipate and quickly adapt to fast-paced digital developments

## Requirements

-   Both public policy or private sector experience welcome
-   The job deals with and addresses cross-disciplinary issues that intersect with the digital / tech and media / information domains, spanning a wide range of tools and levers such as futures thinking, scenario planning, and policymaking across regulations / industry development / public education and more. We are therefore recruiting for officers with experience/expertise in any of the following areas:
-   Social, tech or economic policy
-   Start-up/tech firm experience – product policy/trust and safety/government relations
-   Tech law
-   Tech/computer science – ability to build innovative tech tools to help the team derive richer insights
-   Management consultancy
-   Academia, especially in social sciences, behavioural science, and technology-related fields
-   Independent worker who is a hands-on problem-solver
-   Excellent critical thinking skills. Curiosity is key
-   Comfortable with complexity and quickly evolving environments
-   Team players with a stake in team vision and culture
-   Interest in emerging technologies and their implications for Singapore
