**Role Overview**

We are looking for an experienced **Manufacturing Design Engineer** to support a project focused on improving how advanced AI systems understand mechanical design and production-ready engineering workflows.

You will create and review **parametric CAD models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation** using FreeCAD or a comparable platform. The role requires practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing. Previous AI experience is not required.

**CONTRACT:** Contractor

**COMMITMENT:** Hourly/Part-time

**LOCATION:** Remote

**PROCESS:** Application Form -> AI Interview -> Selection

**Responsibilities**

-   Create and modify parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies.
-   Produce manufacturing-ready drawings with **GD&T and tolerance specifications**.
-   Design components for CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, and injection molding.
-   Review CAD models for dimensional accuracy and manufacturability.
-   Perform tolerance stack-up and basic design validation.
-   Prepare assembly instructions and technical reference documentation.
-   Identify design issues and recommend practical improvements.
-   Revise models and documentation based on technical feedback.

## Requirements

-   At least 2 years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing.
-   Strong proficiency in **FreeCAD or another parametric CAD platform**.
-   Experience producing production-ready parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
-   Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing principles.
-   Experience designing for at least two of the following: CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, or injection molding.
