## Description

This role suits a consultant with significant experience in investigations, strong technical credentials and the ability to lead smaller engagements to consistently high standards. Leading investigations with a team of one or two, usually reporting to an engagement lead, the Senior Consultant will deliver high quality outcomes with senior support on the more complex elements. You will build your own technical expertise and help develop more junior colleagues, while supporting the growth of the business through business development initiatives and proposals.

**Key responsibilities**

**Delivery**

- Lead smaller investigations, compliance reviews and forensic accounting assignments in the UK and overseas, managing a team of one or two and usually reporting to an engagement lead.
- Deliver the majority of engagement work independently, drawing on senior support for the more complex or sensitive elements. As a guide, we would expect a Senior Consultant to handle around 60 percent of delivery, though this will vary by engagement.
- Consistently meet the firm's standards for technical excellence, client service, delivery quality and commercial performance.
- Recognise and escalate project risks and budget overruns in a timely manner, offering practical solutions and work arounds.
- Begin to act as a trusted point of contact for clients on sensitive matters, providing clear, practical and well supported advice.

**Leadership**

- Lead and motivate small engagement teams, setting clear direction and maintaining high standards.
- Coach and support more junior colleagues through active engagement leadership, technical guidance and constructive feedback.
- Review the work of team members to ensure analytical rigour, consistency and high-quality outputs.
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive culture that encourages high performance, professional development and knowledge sharing.

**Strategy and Market Development**

- Support business development initiatives and programmes, helping to convert leads through well-developed proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients through the consistent delivery of high-quality work.

- Help identify client needs, regulatory developments and market trends that may create opportunities for the business.
- Represent the firm at client meetings and industry events, supporting its visibility and reputation in the UK market.

## Requirements

**Knowledge and experience**

- Significant experience conducting internal investigations.
- Experience of leading small teams and delivering high quality work with limited senior oversight.
- A developing ability to coach and support more junior colleagues.
- Experience of supporting business development and building client relationships.
- Takes pride in displaying a high level of attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to all tasks.

**Qualifications and specialist skills**

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- A chartered accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) would be a significant advantage, ideally supported by further credentials such as the CFE.

- Sound understanding of the use of technology in investigations.
- A developing network of client contacts.

- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, e.g. UK Bribery Act, the US FCPA or Sapin II.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken; additional languages would be an advantage (e.g. Spanish or Arabic).

## Benefits

- Control Risks offers a competitively positioned compensation and benefits package that is transparent and summarised in the full job offer.
- We operate a discretionary global bonus scheme that incentivises, and rewards individuals based on company and individual performance.
