## Description

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Our client is looking for a hands-on Backend Software Engineer with strong experience in Python and Django to join their engineering team in Islamabad, Pakistan. This is a coding-focused role where the engineer will work closely with the technical lead to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services. The ideal candidate enjoys writing clean, maintainable code and solving complex backend engineering challenges.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

-   Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and Django.
-   Build scalable RESTful APIs and backend microservices.
-   Develop secure, multi-tenant applications with robust authentication and authorization.
-   Integrate AI services, IoT devices, and external platforms into backend systems.
-   Work with streaming and event-driven architectures for real-time data processing.
-   Design efficient database schemas and optimize query performance.
-   Contribute to distributed system design and implementation.
-   Write clean, well-tested, maintainable production code.
-   Participate in code reviews and engineering best practices.
-   Collaborate with the technical lead to implement architecture and technical designs.
-   Deploy and maintain applications in cloud and self-hosted environments.
-   Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.

## Requirements

### Backend Development

-   3–6 years of professional software development experience
-   Strong Python proficiency
-   Minimum 3 years of hands-on Django experience
-   Experience building REST APIs
-   Understanding of asynchronous programming
